Just thought of a question about the T-shirts. Does anybody know if you can get them while at PIR or do they have to be purchased before that? We were appreciative that our SR got them, but then I started thinking, I didn't ask him what sizes he got!

My SR told me today that he bought us T-shirts for his ship and division. If you want one, be sure to ask your SR about it. If he is planning to surprise you, then forget that I mentioned it. :)

"dungeon"!  HA, too funny mammabird!

Good Morning All !

When I read your comment, ellen, I asked my son about his own experience at Bootcamp,  He said, naw, most didn't let "air" out of all places in my division, but then he said....well, some did, yes, I guess so.  HAA!  I bet when they are uptight and nervous, that issue is bigger!  :-)

Here is one from my son (2012). "Eighty guys in one room having air released from every orifice available, I now know why you made [brother name] and me open our bedroom windows x40. For God sake please send me an open window."

Thanks, Mamabird!  His comment about the food being too healthy made me laugh.  I saw a very old thread somewhere of moms sharing their favorite lines/comments from letters. There were some pretty funny ones.   Mine was,
"Our ship is the USS Triton, way out on one corner of the base, which means we have to march forever to get anywhere." I could just see the twinkle in his eye he'd have had if he'd been talking to us.    Anyone else have some good ones to share?

Navymom 1029, I too have been reading and enjoying all the comments but haven't had the energy to respond.  Happy to reach the weekend!

Hi everyone! I haven't posted in awhile as I have been trying to keep myself busy. However, I have been reading all of your comments as they are posted. I love reading all of your comments, tips, suggestions and stories.

Just think...only 28 days till graduation!! 4 more weeks from today!!

I received a letter from my SR on Wednesday, he sounded so upbeat and excited that they are half way done!! He said time is flying by so fast "we're so busy all of the time."

This letter really turned my emotions around. I have been so worried about him because he sounded so homesick in previous letters. But now, he sounds very upbeat, positive and ready to move on to school. I can't wait to give my young man a great big hug!

Remember, 4 more weeks!!!! We're halfway there Moms!

mammabird, The middle of the night duties are not much fun for any of them. As for them getting up without waking anyone...well that doesn't happen much, and they don't get themselves up either. :)
