Christine,
The SRs get 2 heavenly days in SIQ (resting in their bunks) after getting their wisdom teeth pulled. They are closely monitored and return to training with no delays whatsoever~~
Good Afternoon!
"For the foolishness of God is wiser
than man's wisdom and the weakness
of God is stronger than man's strength."
I Corinthians 1:25
Oh, that kind of waiting is hard! Do you get to hear from him soon or do you just have to wait for the next letter/scheduled phone call? At least we know the person performing the operation is very experienced! He'll get time off to recover, right?
JustaMom,
Remember your SR-soon-to-be-Sailor will be in their finest Dress Whites!! I would say business casual or appropriate for church is good. No need for a suit for the guys.. We have seen all types though--from shorts to full on dressed up!
We did get a call today!! I'm so thankful. He sounded good. Their division is doing well in some areas and is still working to gel as a team. Ship 12/Div 232
Definitely no worries. I'm sure there are a lot of reasons that they may not be able to get a letter in the mail. If it's true that they only take the mail once a week, if they miss that one day, then it's another week! From the sound of my son's latest letter, they are all doing well and things are coming together.
alabamatlab, His first personal letter arrived last Saturday. He sent it to my mom in Washington State and she scanned it and emailed it to us. You're right, it'd take forever to get to us here! I'm still hoping there'll be one there on Monday, but if not, I'll try not worry and just look forward to next Saturday.
Christine, I'm pretty sure I read that the mail is sent on Mondays. We get ours on Thursdays and that seems to be common. What day did you get the first letter? They will probably always show up on the same day of the week. So maybe yours take a little longer to get there since you are out of the country.
