Hello all!
My son is DIV 242. He will be IT. I hope that those of us can join together and stay motivated and prayed up until we see our SRs again. I did receive a phone call today about security clearance references, which was such a surprise. My husband was even home for lunch, so he got to speak to our son. We did get a chance to talk to him and he is doing great. I am looking forward to meeting you all.
Thank you so much diannep! I'll cross my fingers for a letter tomorrow :)
Bronco: It is possible that they had their first letters home collected this past Sunday...mailed out yesterday. If so, you all will start having your expected "mail" day. And....they will now receive mail M-F. But they can only mail out on Mondays.
Ahhhhh, IslandGal: I know your tears were both happy to hear his voice on the message and sad to miss him! But glad you still had that message!
Has anyone gotten a personal letter from their sailor yet? I am crossing my fingers for one tomorrow. This past Sunday was likely the first day they had available to write, right? I can't wait to get this letter thing going! haha
prdofmyfabs,Where they are going for A School will depend on their rating (job). Some A Schools are in GL, and some have a rating that will keep them in GL for some "pre" before moving to A School, but most do not.
What is your recruits rating (job).
Thank you all for the heads up regarding the surprise phone call! I was getting worried because we had not received the arrival call and had not heard anything yet, so I stayed home all day Sunday and was very grateful to have been there to answer when my son called :). He is in div 936 ship 02. We are in CT and have just found tix from LGA to ORD for $197 on AA for 7/16-18 if anyone is heading from the east coast.
I finally received my letter yesterday and his PIR date is 7/17 so I am in the right group. I do have a question... when do we know for sure where they are going for A school. His recruiter didn't give us much info so I am a bit lost. If anyone knows, please let me know.
