Happy Sunday!  Hope all is well with everybody.  Jut curious if anybody received any special letters this weekend from someone other than your recruit?

Comment by diannep on July 6, 2014 at 4:50pm

Yes you will jodymac...leaving base and coming back is fine---in fact, for those not wanting to wait in the lines to pay for Photos after PIR, just come back later in the afternoon to the Photo Lab....no lines!.  Just make sure you have the gate pass with you.

Christine:  I sent the info in a friend request

elizabeth, Your SR can pay for the pictures, but if he is unable to at the time, you can go to the photo lab after PIR and do so. Ask him in a letter about the photos.

Comment by elizabeth Nuke mama EM on July 6, 2014 at 8:27am

Okay, here's a question:  How are y'all paying for your pictures and yearbook?  I was looking at the info and reading a forum post and it says they can't be deducted out of the SR pay.  And they only take money order, credit card or check.  He opened a Navy Credit Union acct when he first got to BC, (He brought his bank accout info but accidentally threw it away as they were being yelled at and processed! )  So, I have no idea if he has checks or anything.  I thought about just sending a money order, but don't want to do that if he has already paid.

The info on here says to ask your SR if he has already paid for them.  Well.....I haven't talked to him since week 3!!! So not quite sure how I'm supposed to do that!

Thanks so much Diannep and Christine :)

Christine I enjoyed talking to you as well. My hubby was very sweet and let me use his computer so I could come to this site :)

Christine is right! Even though I am on vacation I am still making ribbons and there is still time to order and get them before you leave for PIR :) I always travel with ribbon supplies and I am an early riser so I work while everyone else is still sleeping lol.

Hope you all are enjoying your holiday weekend! It has been bitter sweet for me. My recruit will celebrate his 19th bday tomorrow in boot camp :( he always loved the 4th. One big bday celebration. I'm sad that I may not be able to speak with him because of how busy they are now and even more bummed he won't get any cake! (I'm a baker on the side. Bdays are big in this house) I will be praying extra hard for our SRs this week as they tackle the gas chamber and final PFA. Big Navy mom hugs to you all. We're almost there!
