Yes, lizzy.  Most do pass the running, but in every PIR group, there are some who struggle with it.

Terrysproudmom:  Unfortunately, they usually don't get another PIR date when delayed for the running when they miss their own.  Unless that is something that has changed recently.  Because they are already delayed to their A School, most need to fly there right away.

If they don't pass their PFA by the time their division goes through BattleStations, you may get a call that they won't be graduating.  But really, they will have chances until the last day of BattleStations before their PIR group.  It can be devastating for families to get that call, with travel plans in the balance.  So pray that they make that run in their final PFA!

for my son I think he needs to pace himself so they'll teach them how to do that.  It is never fun for the guys to be the ones getting the "special" attention.  So remind him they are just trying to help him and get him through it.  Lizzy you and I are in the same boat on the "running" worry.  I'm just trying to remember there is still 6 weeks for them to get this...keep encouraging them they just have to go a little faster each time they run and they should be alright.

oh ok, they could run with someone fast then throw up at the end lol

I figure it this way.  If you have to pass the running test to become a sailor.  And most people that go to Navy BC become Sailors then most people must pass the running!

Honestly the running could delay their PIR (which is heartbreaking) but they can still pass and PIR another date.  I wouldn't worry too much about it.  They run everyday and so they should be able to improve their time.  My son said the time they got was on the baseline test, sort of a pre-test, so that the RDC's would know who to focus on to help.

Did anyone get phone calls tonight???? My husband couldn't remember my phone number... called my parents house and left a message. I really hope they call tomorrow evening... ugh I feel sick about missing an opportunity to talk to him.
