Lala:  I just doublechecked it from JessicaBSailor's info posted in the discussions in pir 6/3/11.  Pkg A doesn't include the PIR DVD.  And it said that if the sailor doesn't pay for Pkg A by PIR day, the Keel is not included for free.  Those who want to order The Keel can on PIR day for $30....but she was reminded that prices can change.

For those of you who want to read what Jessica wrote about the pictures, just go the PIR 6/3/11, go into the "discussions" up top, and scroll down until you hit photos/keel/dvd by jessicaBSailor.

NavyRecruit page just cleared up picture thing.  SR can order at time picture is made -- but if they don't we can by calling 847-578-6205 -- Navy Exchange Photo Lab.  :)  Yeah I am happy now.   I was afraid my son may not order enough.

Hummm, that is weird, my daughter said package A included the keel and the DVD for $140 plus tax. And I am almost positive they will take the payment out of their pay check. I am not sure about that but I know that my sailor paid for the pics and the only way she could have done that was with her paycheck or if she had already received a debit card from her new Navy Federal account. I will ask her later when she calls. Of course things could have changed since then as well, including the price.

Found on About.com: You must score a "Good" or better on each area of the PT Test in order to graduate Navy Boot Camp. (After Boot Camp, it's merely necessary to score a "Satisfactory" or better on the PT Tests). You can find the requirements at: http://www.navycs.com/navy-fitness-assessment.html

Under the chart it tells how to get the total score.

Sounds like they have to get a minimum of 60 on ea test and then their over-all combined gives them their final points.

They will be running everyday so lots of time to improve.  My SR didn't pass running but feels with all the running he will be fine by week 7's final testing.

lizzy:  He has to do a certain number of situps and pushups depending on his age.  Same with the time for the run.  He has to pass them all before he can do BattleStations.

Here is the link to the chart that has the requirements.

Ladies, don't be too alarmed that they are "down" in some of these calls/letters. It is early in training for them.  These are the really hard "break down" days where they need to break them down before building them back up.  Around week 4 of training, they start feeling more positive about everything.  Just remember...bootcamp is an emotional rollercoaster!  They are up, they are down, they are up again, and down.  Hang in there.

Lizzy - I would like to know that too.  My son is def. not a runner!  But he will do fine on all else.  But I figure the RDC will whip him into shape!  Maybe if they can't make the time at first - they will by the end.  Lets keep our fingers crossed.

No Kathleen - You are definetly not alone.  I got a 5min call yesterday, ship 12 div.231.  My son started off Hey! I said OMG Hey - are you alright -- Yes said Yes I am alright -- but his voice was breaking - which started me crying.  After I hung up called my husband and could not even talk! lol  So looking forward to 7/22.

Just a reminder answer all phone calls.  Sunday when I got my call it came in as 847 but today it came in as "private caller".  You and your SR will feel terrible if you miss your calls.  Although I hope my SR feels better after talking to us than we do.  Just sad that he sounded down.  He didn't seem to believe me when I told him to be strong and that I knew he could do this.
