Got our first letter today, he wrote it Sunday before he got to call so a repeat of much but so nice to see it in writing.  Did say about mail call...they get it every night "It's always nice hearing your name called, also typed letters are easier to read because we have to do it in the dark"  Apparently what I read here before is true they only have time after lights out to read their letters.  I have been doing my letter writing on the computer and in a 14 font to make it easier to read. Then handwrite my signature and a little special something at the bottom.   I don't want his eyes to go bad trying to read our letters!!!  Said stress is high, not that hard, just stressful because you want to do everything right. First inspection was going to be this last Monday and he was nervous but thought he was doing okay.  The RDC's are tough but sometimes make them laugh too.  The funnest line was the P.S.  "I miss driving and sitting, we rarely sit!"  This past Wednesday was going to be their first test.  I don't know if that was he meant academic test or PT test.

So as everyone has said: if you don't get a call or letter keep writing and keep encouraging our SR's.  Nine-three-six Mom's....remind the SR's to keep pulling together.  Yes they have their individual goals but they must work as a team especially during Battlestations!

Praying for calls or letters for everyone!!!  Love to my fellow N4Mom's!

Got home and read the letters, and I am uplifted.  He sounds exhausted, without a doubt.  But he sees a "light at the end of the tunnel".  I sensed no regret, only determination.  He says he has made good friends, so it sounds as if they are bonding and working well together.  He states it's the toughest thing he's ever done in his life, but hey...I'd expect nothing less.  He sounds proud, and I am proud of him.  Looking forward to hearing from others of you who received letters today...

Just spoke to my 17 year old at home...I HAVE TWO LETTERS!!!!  He also wrote each of his brothers, so I'll have 4 letters when I get home....just had to share.  Will share any helpful info after I've read them, as I've so appreciated the few things that have been shared with the rest of us!

Ship 12 Div. 231 made calls today at 4:00 -- got to call for 5 minutes.  Just the three week call - nothing earth shattering.   My SR sounded good, but homesick.  i got a letter and a phone call today. A good day.

Yes, ladies...Lala gave great info below.  NO LAST NAMES on this site.  Some forget and post last names of bunkmates of their SRs to see if moms/gfs/etc are on this site.  Remember...no last names!  Private message those if you need to.

ilmscrespo- I hope you hear good news from him soon. Maybe you will get a letter today. Thursday was always my day to get letters when my sailor was there. The OSPEC rule don't allow us to use last name on this or any other public sites. That rule is in place to protect our Sailors and to get us used to the rules once they are with the fleet. This is a public site and can be seen by anyone anywhere. And sometimes RDC's read these pages and go back and hassle recruits about stuff on here like what aren't you writing your momma? lol So it would be best if you delete the post with your recruits last name posted below and you may want to change your screen name as well. I am so sorry but I just want to help protect your SR. You can send his name in private messages to the group or to your friends with SR's in the same division. Be sure and let all your friends know that you changed your name so they will know who you are :-)
