Happy Friday!
"Open my eyes, that I may see
wonderous things from Your law."
Psalm 119:18
My son had several nicknames in BC (2012) thanks to the RDC's, Wookie, Chewbaca, Wolfman, and a couple others.
He kept taking "hits" for not shaving until his RDC "caught" him shaving again on the little personal time they get during the day. The conversation, as told by my son, went something like this.
"Why are you shaving now recruit?" "Chief, I am trying not to get told again I need to shave every morning, and taking a hit." "Well then shave in the morning it won't happen." "Chief, I do. I am just hairy." "Note taken Wolfman." "Thank you Chief."
Ship 13, Div 246. Just saw Facebook pics of him!
Thank you ellen0502
Don't worry about no names on the form letter, it is only a "pre" to the actual list. Some recruits end up putting Aunt ____, Mom, Dad, my brother, someone, even a pets name. LOL Your recruit will finalize his guest list as PIR gets closer.
Do let your recruit know who is coming, and be sure to give them names that match ID's.
Kathy Smith on the guest list might work for Katherine Smith, but Maggie Smith might not work if the ID says Margaret Smith. Mark Johnson might work for and ID with James Mark Johnson, but it will not work for James M Johnson, etc.
Remind your recruit a couple of times who is coming, it is easy for them to "forget", as their brain may be a little cluttered from BC. :)
I do have 1 important question. So I got the letter today, but there are no names on the list for invites. I was planning on writing to him and having him tell them that we are coming.
Is this what I need to do?
I went back and was looking at the pictures again and I think I saw Alex. I had to look long and hard... I haven't seen him without facial hair since he was 13. LOL
Your Division Discussions have been posted up above. Please use them to get to know each other even better on a "Divisional" basis...BUT remember that you all have the same PIR date and many of you will be attending the same Meet and Greets...so please continue to post on the Main Wall here.
Also, please continue to post your questions for us "veteran moms" on the Main Wall here. We can have 7-8 active PIR groups going at one time..that's 70-90 Divisions! We try to get to the Division Discussions but with that many it is difficult! We don't want to miss any questions as ALL are important...no dumb ones...for many of you this is your first servicemember and we want to be there to help and lend support.
Division discussions now open for business!!
POST AWAY!!
