I wanted to tell everyone, I found this wonderful site called GreetingCardUniverse.com, and they have PIR graduation cards and you can personalize the message on the inside of the card.

I love the challenge coin!  I also Googled and found some gorgeous Navy rings and watches.  I didn't know the ships have names. Can you tell me what Ship 12 is?

Comment by RoseMarie on June 12, 2015 at 6:52pm

The phone number for the shuttle from the Navy Lodge to PIR is 847-471-4348.

janetmarie, Each building has a ship name, that doesn't change. So your son should be in the same ship until PIR. Ship thirteen is the USS Marvin Shields.

dianne...is the ship number always for the same ship. I went to the link and my son is ship 13 which shows a specific ship. Is that the way to do this?

RoseMarie:  The challenge coin may fit the bill for the more personal gift.  Do you have his ship name ?  If so, visit www.pirgifts.com and you can order one there.

Comment by diannep on June 12, 2015 at 6:12pm

There are 2 shuttle services (i.e., taxi services) that provide transportation to/from PIR.  Sarge's is one service; another local service is the other.  People book Sarge directly; and the other service either through the hotel or--- RoseMarie, if you have the number---- directly.  Sarge's number is:

847 212 0246

Yes, you can post the other number you have, RoseMarie.

Still can't stop reading my son's letter. Looking forward to meet so many of you. I am hoping to go to the meet and greet as well. Also my son commented on having a great bunk mate. And is looking forward to meeting his wife. Any wives of anyone on ship 13, Div 245?
