My son is staying at GL for A school and I'm glad we get most of the weekend with him. I was wondering can he have some of his civilian clothes? I read he can have his own boxers and he will not be able to wear civilian clothes for at least 30 days. I'm wondering what to bring him when we go...

For the sarge's meet and greet, is it s bar/restaurant or just a bar? My son's girlfriend isn't 21 yet.

Hi JackRussellMom, I am staying at the springHill suites as well. I saw that a couple other families are staying there too, so your not alone. I hope I will get a chance to meet some of you at Sarge's meet and greet :)

Sarge's MeetandGreet is held at the Sundance Saloon (closed to the public for his meeting).  It is very close to the Springhill Suites, near the Walmart shopping center...lots of restaurants in that area.  Courtyard, Holiday Inn Express, and Residence Inn are located near there also.  Call all of these hotels directly and ask for the Navy Graduation rate!

janetmarie:  The Chapel, where some may be allowed to watch the PIR Livestream, is there on RTC.

A few years back, those staying in GL for A School could spend the nights with family members during PIR weekend.  But they stopped that...so now all sailors, whether returning to RTC or A School base, must be back each night.  Most staying on RTC will be returning after Fri Liberty to pack up and grab the bus to the airports later that night....they all sit at the airports waiting for Sat. flights.  Yes, some will fly out Sunday possibly, but most will go Sat.  The sailors won't know which day until right before PIR.  That is why it is a good idea to plan your own return on Sunday if possible....just in case!  If your sailor leaves Sat (you can visit at the airport with your sailor until departure....bring ID)...you can always sightsee like we did!  :-)

It's actually at a bar and grill. Sarges. Right next to a couple of the hotels and the walmart.

Does anyone know where Sarge's meet and greet it? I think it's in one of the hotels

I'm booked at the holiday inn, they offer a shuttle to and from the graduation
