Wheilhnpluto my son is the same ship and div. hang in there!!
I'm with Jaysmom, missingmyking and Kim. I'm glad to know there are others feeling the same way as me. I sent out my first letter with some extra paper and stamped envelopes. This whole experience is so new and hard on me. I miss him everyday. And everyday it's a constant struggle not to lose it and start the water works. I wasn't ready for how I would with him gone.

I agree with ellen.  It DOES get easier.  A School is when communication is back....and that helps alot.  So hang in there!

I does get easier as time goes on, but it never goes away. I still cry once and a while, and it been three years since BC for my son, but he is forward-deployed now so... :)

Hang in there everyone! Y'all will find your own way to manage it all, it just takes some time. It really does get easier, I promise!

Thank you so much Jaysmom & Missingmyking for saying that. I get so overwhelmed when I think I have at least 5 more years of this. Maybe longer if he decides to make this his career. It is so hard when our babies grow up...there is no way to ever prepare for this.

Hang in there Kim!  *hugs and prayers to you*

I'm with you Jaysmom...I won't want to let go either, but it does get a little better.  I probably only cry once a day now.  We just have to remember this is the next chapter in their lives and it would have to happen some day.  It's just so much harder right now because we can't talk to them or see them.  But the first week was a rough one...didn't know how I was going to get through it...

Yes it's normal and it will get better. Trust me, I think of jay every second too. When he graduates and I finally get to hug him, I won't want to let go. My heart just aches and I feel like my whole life is a mess. Your not going overboard. You love your son. That can't be wrong.

I'm having a rough day....missing him so much . Does it ever get better? He left on May 21st and I still think about him every second of everyday. Some people tell me I am going overboard with this.......is this normal?

I finally got my boyfriend's form letter yesterday! He's on SHIP 14 DIV 250. I was ecstatic and the first thing I did this morning was mail him 3 envelopes with all the letters I've been writing every day, a new letter, and pictures of me and our mutual friends! Made reservations at the navy lodge as soon as I ripped into the envelope! Does anyone know whether it's more money-efficient to rent a car or pay for a taxi service to/from the airport?? I'm under 25 as well so I'm guessing I'll have to pay extra...
