Lynn: I know that letter just warmed your heart....it was worth the wait, right?
Happy July 4th to all! Remembering all of the sacrifices made for our country, and those to be made in the future....to protect our independence and freedom. God Bless all of our military!
Lynn,
I had to look up "penultimate" which means "next to last" part of your SR's training!! Learned something new!!
Asking for prayer and for you to meet him at the airport just makes me smile for you both!! May this loving closeness continue always~~ Be careful of the balance in your relationship~~ HUGS!
I just got 2 letters from my girl and my husband ot 1!! It definitely lifted my spirits. Thank you all for your kind words, my brother was only 16 months older than me and we were truly close from the minute I was born. I keep envisioning seeing my daughter at PIR. I am confident we will all be beaming with pride. She did mention that the hall is quite chilly and to be sure I brought a "light sweater!!!" As Amanda stated, I can see a transformation in her that is amazing.
Soon enough we will all be able to embrace our loved ones and show them just how proud we are of them instead of conveying it in words.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend and a Happy 4th. This year, my freedoms take on a more special meaning with a child in the Armed Forces.... so grateful ;-)
...and, happy anniversary!
scubagirl: Calls are always random and with over 5,000 SRs on base, all will not be able to call home, but you never know if some will, so phones close!
baby duke's mama: The division number would not have changed, so look for your division number above.
I received another letter yesterday. With each letter he sends, I can see my son transitioning from my little boy into a Sailor. I think the closer we get to PIR, the more I miss him. At first I was a little tough, now I can't wait. He seems excited to carry a flag for div 225. I think he is a little tall to be in the front. He is also feeling a little "bummed" that his friends from home are not writing. Anyone else have this problem?
Happy PIR Day!!
"The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
the plans of His Heart to all generations."
Psalm 33:11
