Greetings to All!
"But You, O Lord, are a shield for me,
my glory and the One who lifts up my head.
I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He
heard me from His holy hill."
Psalms 3:3-4
Good Morning!
CGood morning everyone, Happy HUMPDAY!!!
Baby dukie's mama, I agree with you, seeing our date for PIR is slowly moving up on the list. It will be here before we know it. Can not wait to see my new son, the Sailor.
Ladies, don't mix up the Navy LODGE with the Navy GATEWAY INN. Navy Lodge is located about a mile from RTC....in a housing area. You book the room in your SR's name if you do not have your own ID. Your sailor CAN visit you there at the Navy Lodge and will need to stop by the front desk at some point to verify the reservation.
Navy GATEWAY is on A School base. The sailors in school there are not allowed near the hotel without a special "chit". The newly graduated sailors will move over there shortly after PIR. It is our understanding that they will ask for/receive this special chit to visit family if they are staying at Gateway. No sailors are allowed overnights anyway, no matter where a family is staying. They only have Daytime Liberty.
I just read this same thing (about sailors not allowed at Navy Lodge) on another PIR group. Seems that some RDCs may be a little misguided on this....or.....are saying Navy GATEWAY and the SRs are getting it mixed up. Navy Lodge is a bit easier to stay in, I believe. So I would check that one out first.
I have changed my profile picture from my sweet son's face to the Blue Candle because I know that for the next week or so at least our SR's will be going through some of the toughest days they have had so far in Boot Camp. Let us all remember all of the SR's each day in our prayers for the strength they will need each day.
Hello All!!
"Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden,
the God who is our salvation."
Psalm 68:19
jill,
Sometimes when a division finishes earning reward flags and do really well, their RDCs allow them to make a call before Battlestations, which occurs the last couple of weeks of Boot Camp~~
