Alice-mom, it can be very confusing. Weekend and holidays don't count as training days. They usually only count the days 1 through 5 and then start with a new week-day. Since he wrote that on Sunday the 22nd. It sounds like he is making Sat and Sunday days 6 and 7. Since there wasn't a holiday last week then today should be 4.2. But every division is on a different training day and week so you can't compare his with others who are in a different division. Brother divisions may be on the same day of training.

I'm a little confused as to what day they are on. My SR wrote that on 6/22 it was day 2.7. So wouldn't today be 4.2?

Friends,

Your SRs are going into the "radio silence" mode where pretty much the only contact you will have is their weekly letters.  They are entering the intense and busy part of their training.  They will be tested on their barracks, uniforms, marching, and how well they finally pull together.  They can earn reward flags to hold proudly in front of their divisions at PIR.  At the end and right before they start going into Battlestations, they may be allowed a call if they are doing well as a division.  This is in addition to their "I'm a Sailor" call, so rest easy everyone, this phase is part of the home stretch!!  Keep writing those letters!!

Lynn, they should be heading into Hell Week. No calls during that time from what I understand.  Our guys Week 4 Day 1 should be Wednesday.   Also, I wanted to let you know we probably will not get calls until after 2 on the day they become Sailors after Battlestations 21.

Oh, I bet those years of gymnastics are just what she needed to carry that heavy flag pole, amilynne.

Good Morning!

Diannep - she is quite nervous about it because she is in charge of making sure everyone turns when they should.  She said the flags are so heavy but it is building her upper body strength.  She was a gymnast for 11 years, so hopefully those years of discipline have helped her out.

Jill - it is quite a sight to see, my son is 6'3" and when the two of them stand next to each other, she looks like a doll.  In fact even her boyfriend is 6'2" and they look so cute together.

Hope you all have a wonderful day

Too funny, amilynne, but what an honor to head up the line!

Good Morning Everyone!

B.B. - which flag is your daughter carrying?  My daughter is carrying the US Virgin Islands, she heads up the line, off course this is only because she is a mere 5'1" tall!!! She says she looks like she is playing dress up when whe wears her uniform ;-)  I so cannot wait to see her, 25 days and counting.
