I got a call from my son!  I'm so excited.  He sounded great!  He said it was going great.  I totally freaked out though because I was on the other line and didn't have my glasses on so when I went to switch over, I messed up.  I thought I had ruined my chances, but he called right back.  I got to talk at least 5 minutes so I'm one happy mom:)

I got my call one hour ago!!! I am so HAPPY!! HE said he is eating well! and He just couldn't wait to talk to me! He said that is the hardest part! He also called his brother first because he couldn't get ahold of me! So he talked to Jacob for 2 minutes then he got my cell and talked to me for 5 minutes!

WHAT A RELIEF!!!! Praise God!

I asked him some of the names in his group but did not understand the names.  We put the cell on speaker so my husband and I both could hear his voice.  I know he said one guy flew out from Atlanta with him and is older like maybe 30 and another guy flew in on the second flight and he is older also.  My son is 22 so 30 is older to him.  I guess since I turn 60 Tuesday I must be ancient.

My son said they have to 4:30 Central time to be through with calls.  He was given a two minute warning while we were talking.  I guess they had to free up line for others.

Hi all, Ship 03, Div 230 is making calls.  We just got ours.  Our son sounded great.  I was surprised.  He said his group is not together yet.  I am sure they will by Battlestations 21.  I was working in yard and had the phone out with me.  I did not hear it ring first time but did the second time.  So Happy!!!
