What a fabulous week! Randy and I ended our Navy celebration by going to San Pedro to see the USS Abraham Lincoln! Amazing! We toured the regular stuff, rode on the plane elevator, chatted and took pictures for hours.... then as we were leaving, an incredible thing happened! We were given a tour of the parts of the ship that were not open to the public! WOW!!! WHAT???!!! YEAH!!!!! Okay no engine room or top secret stuff, but we saw the berths, the galley, the workroom for the jets, halls and stairs and too much to absorb!!!! Totally amazing!!!! God Bless all of our sons and daughters who serve, this has been one heck of a week!!

I had friday after PIR with my Sailor. and we went to the mall for a little bit, then went back to the hotel and just layed around. Then met him at the airport Saturday, and sat with him until he departed to Charleston. Very sad day, and I was spotted bawling my eyes out walking through O'hare. he's in Charleston safe and sound, and I should get to see him either the first week of september, or october!:)

HM:  So good to hear that your SR's run times are improving...and she sounds determined to get it done this week...God's speed to her!

BoosMom:  Good for you getting those pictures.  My son had said that one of their RDC's had really yelled at some people at the first PIR he worked trying to take pictures of them because you aren't really supposed to take pictures of active divisiions...guess you scared those RDC's off.  For sure you've earned a chit!

You know the pleasure was all mine, got a lot of responses from 938 and 939 that they would pay this forward, so I hope it does continue as a courtesy for the moms waiting for their SR's in the future!

Praying for HM's daughter and the poor girl who has been in there for so long with the broken leg!  May they encourage one another and push one another....both making their times tomorrow!

Sigh.....BoosMom is so nice.....she "raises the bar" much too high for the rest of us!

:-)

Seriously, that was very nice of you.  Good Girl!  A special CHIT for you!

I took pictures of a few SRs from 938 and 939, posted them on facebook, those ladies are so happy!!  Makes me feel good for them!  It was just a God moment, my daughter said Thank God I am not lined up over there to go back to the barracks and I asked what she meant, she said those are people from 938 and 939 getting ready to go back.  So no RDC's around I just went right over there (because my daughter had to go back to her ship to change shoes) so I just started snapping random pictures for you guys, I loved every minute of it, they were so proud I was over there doing it, thanked me tremendously and I let them know the pleasure was all mine!!
