I may be in the wrong place though. We received my boyfriends form letter and it didn't have an exact date to it for PIR. His recruiter said probably the 29th or the 5th of august. He stepped into basic june 6th. Anyone else?

Navy Speak doesn't have a lot of them. If you ever want to know what something is and can't find out just ask on here, if we don't know the answer we will try to find out for you. :-)

At 10 am every Tuesday morning, the rtc will post a trivia question on facebook.  The person who gets it correct will get a picture of their SR and their Division.  The answer comes from the navy boot camp website.  Can someone from ship2/div937 please answer the question the quickest this week?  I sure would like to see BOO's picture!!!!

Bree,

Try the "Navy Speak" utility on the right side of this page, but be prepared.  Your son will come home talking in initials.  That's what military people do.

Found out yesterday my son (white sox game recruit) PIR 7/29.  Received a box  (addressed to his brother- because little brother is taking all his clothes) and a form letter with his personalization to dad & I.

I am having trouble with all the acronyms...everything sounds like e..i..e..i..o..!!  Is there a secret decoder list somewhere?

my son (17 yrs old) saw me on this PIR groups page and saw the PIR date. he said y'all need a count down clock so I will know exactly how long it is until his 18th birthday, haha  :-)

My fiances PIR is 7/29 as well but I haven't received a letter from him yet.

NavyMom:  You put it in the section UNDER the section that has your pretty water/mtn picture.  Look at PIR 7/8/2011's page.  That is where they put theirs.  It won't fit in that top section.
