Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Nick'sMom: If he is asmoed (setback) in training for any reason, you will be called immediately. My son went through this. He actually called to say he was being asmoed (scripted call, they are supervised and can't talk) and he gave me his new PIR date which was 2 weeks later. I had already made plane reservations (change fee involved) but decided not to change yet. Glad I didn't because week later, he called to say he was back to training and gave me a PIR date a week earlier than the first one he gave me. So no worries....hopefully your SR will be fine and is being threatened with being asmoed to get him motivated to get things done....but if it happens, you will know right away.

Good Morning, I received a call from my son yesterday too. He sounded so good but was a little concerned because he had some strikes against him that might affect his graduation date. He said they were for small things he did or did not do and didn't get into details. Does anyone know if this affects graduation date and when we would find out if his graduation will be delayed? Other than that he sounded really good talked alot about what he has been doing and seemed in such good spirits.

Talked to my son today also. He was so upbeat and glad hell week was over. Ready for the next couple of weeks and graduation. Hope others of you also get a call, so good to hear from him.

So excited! My son just called! They did so well during hell week they were given extra phone time! He said everyone is doing well. Stay by your phones ladies, Ship 13, Div 281 is calling!
