Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good morning everyone, I am still in FL. Having a Meet and Greet today for all the Navy Moms and families in this area who want to come, even teaching them how to make a scrapbook in a box :) It should be lots of fun and I wish everyone here could come too :) Diannep, I still say you could hop in that car and make it here in plenty of time :) Get on 75 and head north and we will see you in 4 and half hours :)
On July 4th your recruits will have holiday routine with a little down time with some extra time to write hopefully. They won't get to see fireworks but according to my daughter who was there for the 4th of July in 2010 they will have the BEST meal ever, or least during boot camp lol. They have the BEST Apple Pie on the planet :) I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July this week.
Hello All!
"For You, Lord, have made me glad through Your work;
I will triumph in the works of Your hands."
Psalm 92:4
Good Morning!
If you have each joined your future A School groups on this site, you can ask on that group when those new sailors flew out after PIR and see what those ladies say. It is almost always the day after PIR, unless they cannot get flights until the next day.
Laura - I'm hoping for the same thing. I want a couple of days with him before he leaves. We will stay until he flies out.
Nancy and proudmom---- glad to hear that there are other moms with Sr going for the same A school as my SR...
I hope they do not fly out until Sunday or Monday.. But I heard its typically Saturday that they fly out... I just would like to spend as mush time with him as possible...miss him alot
Good afternoon, I made reservations at the Marriott. Since my SR is attending school at GL, we will be there from Thursday evening until Monday morning, unless things change. The Courtyard Marriott said that they contract with a third party shuttle service for transportation to PIR, $3 per person, just register when checking in.
Happy Friday!
"Those who know Your name
will trust in You, for You, Lord,
have never forsaken those who seek You."
Psalm 9:10
I intend to relax. I have had a very stress-filled week. Having heard from my son yesterday relieved stress on one front. I finished a wedding dress for a friend yesteray which was most of my stress and the rest of it is from work. A few days off should help that. I hope you all have heard from or hear from your SRs this weekend!!
Probably the week of PIR. Most will be flying out the day after PIR....they are bussed to the airports in the early morning hours to wait for flights. Families can meet them there with personal belongings and to visit. Bring ID to get an airlines gate pass so you can wait with them until departure! The USO will be a wonderful help to your sailors and you all out there.
