(ship 11 Div 244) Waiting to hear where my SR goes from boot camp. Atleast he writes once or twice a week to let us know that he is doing good and the hardest part of boot camp is over with. I'm sure that he has had to do alot of growing up.
My SR is also in Ship 11 Div 244. He called this past Wednesday to say that he is doing well. We have also received one letter each week which is good. The Div has lost some members for various reasons, but I think they continue to be strong in their determination to reach the ultimate goal and pass Battlestations. If they are not complaining, I think that is a good sign! My family and I do plan to go to PIR, just need to make reservations.

Alexh sailor -thanks for the info. It must be hard for them to watch members fall away. I agree no complaining is good. They just need to focus on the goal. Looking forward to meeting you and your family at PIR are you attending the Meet and Greet the eveing before? I hope so.

Sistersue- If you know your son's rating(job) ask on the group discussion where A-schools are for that Rating(job). I know my son is a Yeoman and is going to Midland Miss. after this. He is a California boy and is going to be getting a taste of the South for 7 weeks and then after that Only God(not the Navy) knows. lol

I could not remember my SR's rate so I called the recruiter and was told that due to my SR's ASVAB score that he will likely be in the sub advanced electronics computer school as an ET or FT. I remember my son saying that he may either go to GA, WA state or CT for A school after BC.  I did indicate may attend for the Meet and greet, and I will be attending.

Wow I thought it was already decided before BC what school they would attend

. Are any of them close to home ? Good I am glad you will be attending the meet and greet. I wonder if our SR's know each other. Do you want to leave a message on my page with your son's first name and  the state you live and I can leave you mine and see if they know each other yet.? My son has already mentioned his friends last names and what state they are from I think that it would be great if they knew eachother and we knew eachother.

Hi! I'm Sue and my son's name is Shannon and he's from Arizona
My sons name is Raymond and he is from California and my name is Rita. My son is very social of course not so loud right now and loves sports. He says he is getting known because of his mail  I sent him real pics b4 I knew that it could cause him trouble. So he could have been made fun of . for mail. so I will ask my son about yours see if he know you I will also give him your screenname, does your son know what it is?this is so exciting
Hi my son is also in this division. It would be nice if we could all friend each other and see if our SR's know each other! I will be going to the Meet and Greet before the PIR on 8-5. I missed my SR's call, but I'm sure he'll get the opportunity to call again... theraysmom.. I believe my son will also be a Yeoman, and going to Mississippi after BC... we must exchange info.Go 11/244!

Hi! This is the 1st I've heard of the Meet & Greet! Can you explain?

this is where the families of the SR's meet and greet each other .Most of the N4m's group goes .  We get to meet the loved ones  of the SR's that our SR's have spent the last 8 weeks. Please come and join us . Is your SR going to PIR 08/05/2011. If so what Div is your SR in? Oh sorry Welcome and feel free to ask any questions we have lots of Veterans who pop in to help us our this site is great help in so many way. For the meet and greet  go to the 08/05/2011PIR group and there will be a place on the page to rsvp
Hi Maureen, it is funny that we all are calling our kids by their first names and when my son writes, he uses last names of course true military.  So I wonder who he is taking about.  He is really enjoying the BC except for the confrontations with his trainers yelling.  It is still making him nervous.  My son nervous--wow!
My SR said that everyone knows each other by their last name so he has no clue when I ask him who's in his division when I give first names.
