Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 307 and 308
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

My understanding is they were held over for a few extra P days and then had the holiday last week. A push division does things in an accelerated fashion so they get all the same training in a shorter time frame. This allows them to PIR with the rest of the training group they are with. Someone else may be able to explain better. That was just my understanding.

No, we are staying at the Gateway Inn and Suites on base. My husband is military, so we got a suite there. I'm thinking of maybe switching to the lodge since it sounds like so many will be there.

I just called the Navy Lodge and they don't have any suites left. We have a room with a kitchen, but no oven. Bummer because we were going to make fresh chocolate chip cookies. Oh well, I guess we'll need to make them before we leave.

We have not gotten a letter but did get a phone call on Saturday. He sounded great! It was a relief to hear his voice and continued enthusiasm.

My son is also in Div 308 and we got a call as well. He said letters would be mailed on Sunday! Patiently waiting :)

My son gets his wisdom teeth out tomorrow. I will be burning my blue candle. :(

Struggling to keep myself together. My husband moved 2 1/2 hours away for a better job, my son is at Navy boot camp, and my youngest son is at Boy Scout camp. I have never felt more alone than I do now! I think I have a bad case of the blues...so I'm going to take a bath, light my blue candle for our guys taking a test tomorrow and call it a night. The sun will come out tomorrow - right?

GregsMom, I am so sorry you're down. Believe me, I can relate. I have those days too and they're not good. I live in IN and my husband transferred to Maine to try to keep his job until retirement. That was 4 years ago and I get to see him usually twice a year. My son is 19 years old and in boot camp too. He's my only child so it's just me and the dog. I think the day I dropped him off at the recruiters office was one of my worst days. When he called the other day he was so distressed and unhappy it broke my heart. Well get through this! Hang in there.

Thanks much for the encouragement. Coming from someone who knows how it feels to be separated not only from their SR but from other family members it means a lot. I hope for both of us that this time will go fast. We both have a lot to be proud of - husbands who will do what it takes to support the family and sons who have made a choice to be a US Sailor.
