Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 307 and 308
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

My mother in law does not understand that my son does not have a lot of time to write letters. She is mad because he has not written to extended family (Great Aunts & Uncles). Any ideas on how I can help her understand that he is not lazy and that he truly does not have time to write? I'm at my wits end listening to the negativity about this!
Good Morning,
Cross another Friday off the calendar we are now at 5 down and 4 to go till me see our graduates. Good luck to those who are graduating as I write.
Greetings Navy Moms, I saw the idea below on this site and thought it was a super idea. Is anyone interested in doing this? I am willing to organize this if we can get enough people interested.
"I just want to share with you all something that PIR July 19th group is doing that you may want to do with your PIR group too. I actually got the idea from another group to have any lady who wants to, to make a gift basket from their state or city, including items that are made or manufactured there. Then bring them to Sarge's Meet and Greet and auction them off. We are giving the proceeds from our auction to Sarge and his wife to offset their cost, as the Meet and Greets are done by them out of their own pocket. They are a great help and resource for us Navy families coming in for PIR. It is fairly simple to organize. First, run it by Sarge to make sure he can incorporate the time for this into his meet and greet, as he does have a time schedule he follows. He invites you to friend him on facebook, which is what I did, then just private message him. Then, just put the idea out in your PIR group, when you have it. I started a new discussion under my PIR group titled PIR Gift Basket Auction. I assumed, when I threw the idea out that I would be organizing it. Just keep a list of who signed up and what their state or city is. Set a monetary limit of what the baskets should cost to make to keep it affordable for those who are interested, and make sure you know what each lady spends to make her basket, so the auctioneer can start the bidding off right."
Hi GregsMom,
has anyone replied to you about these gift baskets?
Holli
Good Morning Holli - your the only one so far. I think we need a few more willing to do this before we can pull this off. Maybe it was just too soon? At any rate, I'm still willing to organize this if more people are interested. Would you be willing to put together a gift basket?
GregsMom
yes, I can do one and put Indiana items in it, but would need to start working on it this weekend and would need to know the price limit etc. Just let me know, If alot of Mom's did this, that would be great, just let me know. thanks
Hi,
I didn't do a basket because I haven't heard if other moms are doing one, so I just wanted to give you a heads up.
Holli
Hi Holli, It's okay. Last week I intended to send a reminder, but we had a tornado touch down in our neighborhood and had no power for 2 days so I didn't get a chance. Now it's way too late! I guess we can make a donation at the event. I really look forward to meeting you on Friday. Isn't it cool to be able to say This Friday!
GregsMom.
there is a site, my hubby found that lists out everything the kids are doing week to week in their training.. pass that out to the family & let them all see for themselves what their day entails or pass along one of his letters that says how tired they are/busy & then tell them to all shut the hell up ! It's hard enough for us as their parent to be without them & also have to listen to the inconsiderate bitching because someone didnt get a letter..... I feel bad, Dan hasnt specifically written to my dad either, but when his letters come, i read them all out loud & he seems to be fine, like they are geared to the whole family.... maybe ask him to write a generic letter send it to you & you can copy & pass it along to the fam....
I hope this helps...
hugs
Lauri
