Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 307 and 308

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Thanks for your and LauriB's support.  I asked Greg to write to his Aunt & Uncle and his girl friend and skip writing me.  I hope that this will calm the waters.  When we tried to read the letter to my Mother in Law from Greg, she wouldn't listen.  Oh well, I guess this is really her problem - not mine and definitely not Greg's.  I guess I need to get out my duck suit and let this roll off my back!  Quack Quack - LOL.

GregsMom,

I think that is probably the best idea.  It just sad that MIL has to be such a pill.  I guess she forgot the saying "tis better to give than to recieve".  What does she think they are doing, playing tidly winks?  They are on the move from sun up to sun down and from what my son has said fall into their racks exhausted.  They are given a limited time to write on Sunday along with preparing their uniforms for inspection.  My son said he was going to write a little each night before falling to sleep so that he would have the time to write.  Oh well, you can not please everyone.

Quack!

LauriB,

I was looking on the site and can't find the week by week duties that our SR's our doing, do you know where I should look exactly?

thanks  Holli

thank you Audra

Can anyone tell me what week and day they are in? I sit here and try to figure it out but come up with a different day each time. Thanks in advance!

I think they are week 3 day 3. When I got my sons letter last Thursday it was week 3 day 1 so...

I have been doing alot of reading, trying to get prepared & make sure i have all my ducks in order prior to our trip up to PIR.

what are these kids allowed to have while in A-school.  one thing i know is no civilian clothing.  they can receive care packages, but thats food/drink wise. I had wanted to bring mine his cell & laptop, but im guessing thats not allowed. is that correct?  Im sure they will be studying their behinds off 24/7 and shouldn't have that distraction.

will we be allowed to have the kids on sunday after PIR if they are not shipping out but staying in GL? uuuggggg so many questions and not enough answers..

I also read, it's up to the kids to order the photographs, division cruise book & ceremony dvd... these kids haven't even been paid yet, can we send them $$ to do so?...

thoughts ?

Lauri

They can have their phones. But not until they're moved into their new barracks. Also I think you have them all weekend if they are not shipping out. And they would just take their first paycheck. I'm not a mom just a girlfriend who has done tons of research
I'm a new mom to a sailor in ship 14 div 308. I miss him terribly! No call this weekend but I'm loving his letters!! I can't wait till PIR!

Greetings Navy Mom's - I haven't heard from my son in a long time, so I'm assuming no news is good news.  I am trying to figure out what week they are in.  Is it HELL week 4?  I was going through the weeks events and it looks like they get pistol and shot gun training.  My son is a pretty good shot - he shot trap, so I hope this will be his week to shine.

If some of you remember me telling about my MIL complaining that she didn't get a letter.  Well she isn't talking to me any more because I told her he would write when he gets a chance and until them we need to be patient.  I probably wasn't very nice about it, but I had had enough!  I guess I don't make a very good duck!

I'm sure glad I have all of you to reach out to.

Keeping you and your SR's all in my prayers.

I know, havent heard from mine either.   good for you, my FIL wants to see our son also & we have told him several times, they are only allowed 3 guests & yet he keeps asking about extra tickets. I've even sent out the link that lays everything out in black & white... um what dont u understand ?   now he wants to drive up & spend time after the graduation... someone help me :)   you are not alone my friend!

no news is good news, it means they are to busy & tired to write... I miss him so much as well. just sent out a package of pen, paper, envelopes & stamps along with a list of questions to just highlight what he wants or answer yes or no since he really doesnt have time to write. along with some goofy pics to cheer him up.

we will be staying at the courtyard marriott if anyone else is staying there

Lauri

LauriB, My condolences on the FIL problem.  I did get my MIL to understand that there are only 3 people who can go to graduation - so I guess I'm ahead of the game.

Are you going to Sarge's Meet and Greet?  I will be there (with my MIL on Tow also!) too.  Hoping to meet all the Mom's from this site:)

Gregsmom
