~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Carmen 47, I totally understand! My son put myself, his dad, his fiancée and his brother on his list, Unfortunately due to the guest restriction, his brother is going to stay home in CT with family and watch it on the live feed. I wish I could afford to fly an extra person to Illinois to stay with him in the hotel. But I think this is bothering me more than it bothers his brother.
Finally Finally found out my nephews Ship/Div....he's Ship 2 Div 940? 940: Ship Staff/Honor Guard:, what does ship staff/Honor Guard do for PIR ie?
oh boy.. my son guest list he put mom and dad and girlfriend .. his brother and sister very upset they cant go .. but i feel that at least one of this siblings should go.. the girlfriend haven't been around it been less than 6 months.. i dont no how to ask my son in a letter that he should chioce a sibling rather than his gf... i though 4 of us woulda be able to seeing him but now only 3 . upsetting :(
ship 13 div 307... have changed to three guest list right ?????
Hello!
"O Lord, how manifold are Your works!
In wisdom You have made them all.
The earth is full of Your possessions."
Psalm 104:24
stacystu,
Ummm, hoping maybe since your 11 year old can't be in the hotel room by himself, that maybe your SR's girlfriend will graciously agree to be at the hotel watching the livestreaming since she is an adult (or at least old enough to be left alone to be in a hotel room). I think that close family--parents and siblings--should kinda have first dibs when there is a limit imposed~~
The mail will arrive, no worries. Sometimes they change ships for renovation/maintenance reasons. The division number is the very important number.
Oh boy, StephMc; Not a good situation to be in, but a mom has to do what a mom has to do! :-)
I don't know what happened. Maybe. I told my son I had already mailed some letters to ship 13 and he said they them their mail would be forwarded to them.
I'm in the same situation with having four of us going to PIR. My mother and daughter and my SR's girlfriend. I don't want to put it on my son to decide so I'm going to have to break the news to his girlfriend and let her know she can still come but will have to hang out at the hotel. At least she'll still get to see him. I feel bad.
