Okay, we finally gave in and booked at the Spring Hill Suites. At first we were at the Ramada! Yikes!!!! This is so stressful! I think we will be happier at the Suites. Now I have to confirm the meet and greet at Sarge's. "Oh what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh!....." Ho ho ho.....Just like Christmas. : D
Hey Lala I got the friend request but I think you left off the last number Saturday sounds good. My husband will be coming also his name is Ritchie and yes he likes fishing just doesn't get to do it much. I will test my info when you resend me your number. Tks
FlowerGrower: Yes, the shuttles that leave the hotels (actually taxis operating as cheaper shuttles that morning) will return you to the hotel. If you are taking a shuttle, I recommend you try to be on the 6:30 one, if possible. It takes about 10 minutes to get there...then through security a few more minutes, then the walk to PIR hall. Checking in there. From hotel to seated in the stands, took us about 35 minutes...and we had 9 divisions also.
Yes, you are there about 2 hours early, but believe me...there will be lots there already. So it is nice to be able to get your seat (check out different spots including in the balcony), test out your camera, etc. You can bring snacks, drinks, etc in there. They sell limited items there too.
SARGE's MeetandGreet will have the most info for you all. But they are all good as far as meeting people. Sarge will give you info for the weekend....
hello all ..im popping in again to leave facebook link this time for my div of 264..well 263/264..we have a great PIR group there too..dont want you to leave here i read emails from here everyday ..great place..its easier to respond on Fb though and private.anyway..im lonely only few of our div there..dont know if theyre on here and havent come over yet or not even here :(..
thanks and hope to see you there
Diannep -- we can take the shuttle from the hotel to the graduation and back? How are ahead do you recommend or anyone recommend leaving for PIR?
Which meet and greet is everyone going to?
Awe, PamperedMom, I know how hard it is missing him but do you know what is absolutely wonderful? That your husband understood why you were there. That is awesome :-)
Ladies, just saw a post on 07/27 from a lady who stayed at Ramada. Said it was clean, nothing special, but ok. But she did mention that it is located in an area where you can't walk around outside...nothing there...that may not be a problem for anyone, but wanted to pass it along. Springhill Suites and Courtyard are by the Walmart shopping center which has other stores/restaurants there. Both of those hotels have had good reviews on this site from ladies staying there (Residence, Springhill Suites, Courtyard are all Marriotts). They all have the PIR shuttle.
Yes, ladies. If you have AAA, be sure to check that rate too. Sometimes a hotel "sells out" of the Navy Grad rate. We used our AAA rate for Residence when we were up there.
FlowerGrower: Thanks for the renovation update on the Courtyard so we can pass that along to the future PIR groups!
Ahhhh.....PamperedMom. SO sweet....that "final picture of your SR" will soon be replaced by a wonderful one at PIR! The BEST!
