I got my form letter today- no note or anything.  I was hoping- but oh well.  Just glad to have the dress confirmed and the graduation date.  His writing was print and all caps- neater than usual but still messy- he even spelled Family wrong on the envelope- wondering if he was nervous or what.  Oh well, just glad to know he is still plugging away and only 48 days to go!

Klh17. Your sr is the same ship/div as my son. Mine starts A school on Monday, but from what I have heard from his recruiter and from what I've read, they will have Friday to spend with family and have to report back at around 8pm. He will go to A school there in great like beginning Monday, o we should lso be able to lend Saturday with him. They can leve at 7 am back at 8pm. This is ony what I've been told, but nothing is definite. We are staying until Sunday, so hopefully we will be to spend time with him. What is your SR going to school for?

BrandonDiv267-- that is our current plan to head out Wednesday. Now trying to decide if we go home Saturday or Monday. I'm reading on all these boards that he may head out to A school Saturday or he may not. So I'm thinking we stay through until Monday just in case we have any chance of more time with him.

Stupid question but do the ships have air coditioning?  Also if we will be in chicago on august 10 weekend is there anywhere i could find out if we could go watch my SR perform?  He is in a 900 division.  Heard they might perform at the two graduations before theres, which means he would be performing at the August 10 PIR when we are in town.  Is there any way I could see him / talk to him at that PIR?  Also where could I find out if he is performing at anywhere else besides PIR?

Klh17--thanks for the flight advice ,, that airport isn't far away at all totally forgot about it.. But sadly just looked and they aren't flying on 23rd of august out of here to rockland..either sold out or dont do Thursday's;).. Anyway now highly considering sw but non refundable at 200$ one way each vs the refundable sw or united which was about same as sw non but had bag fees etc .. Dealing with my daughter and her fam not only my choice ;)..hopefully making the rental car choice will be easier ! Doing navy lodge resv are made for that already!..Once again on phone sorry for horrible pecking,, but appreciate the info :)

Has anyone in Division 265 Ship 9 received their letter, I am still waiting on mine? d
Comment by BrandonDIV267 on July 6, 2012 at 7:36pm

Dakota's mom- So glad you got to talk to him! You got more info from your son then I got from mine. He didn't tell me he was getting his wisdom teeth out tomorrow....well atleast he only has 2 lol ... I was also nice talking to you! I'm glad he has to do his clearance too... Its nice to have those quick phone calls.

Comment by diannep on July 6, 2012 at 5:25pm

Congrats on the calls/letters today!

I just got a call from my son (Div 267). He needed info for his clearance. He said to tell all of "my moms" to write as much as possible because they are all homesick. He also said his division is pulling wisdom teeth tomorrow and they will have their first holiday on Sunday and will be able to write. I thought this was funny...he said he made me his beneficiary and has a $400,000 policy so if anything happens to him I should do something nice for myself. He must feel like they are close to death. They had a 3 mile hike yesterday in 104 degree temp! We both held back tears until we got ready to hang up. It was so good to hear his voice.
