Received the letter today. States he doesn't really know what day it is (hah) but has been in P-Hold and is starting day one of training. (Envelope is stamped July 3, so I am guessing the letter was written either Monday or Tuesday, don't really know?). Since he is in division 941, I may assume he had to wait for that division to fill to start trainin? Definitely misses everyone, and states to please write. I think these SR's really need to hear from home!
I created a facebook page for ship 02 division 941 please join if you can help us or you have a sr in this division.

808 mom, mark on your calendar that tuesday was week one day one and we can use that to help you know when hell week and battle stations will be :-)
Momof5, glad to see you created your own group for facebook. I think it is much better if those individual facebook groups are created by someone who has a recruit in that group. Then if you want to invite a veteran mom there to help answer any questions you can :-) Just please stay active on this page as well. Lots of moms here need your input.
I'm sorry I haven't been more active lately. We have been on vacation and tomorrow we head home so things will get back to normal and I will be on here a lot more often :-) Glad to be heading home!!! I know you all have missed me right? lol
HAA, mkcmom. I can see you are "erring on the side of caution" due to how long ago he was there!
As it is now, they usually fly out before that...but nothing is written in stone in the Navy, which I'm sure you are well aware! :-) They most likely will fly out either Sat or Sun after PIR. I don't believe they stay at GL now? But don't quote me on that! :-) For those who want info, check the Charleston SC A School page and ask the ladies there who would have just gone through it.
My oldest son is/was a NUKE. He graduated i 2003, but I have found out that lots of things have changed since then BUT, he stayed at great lakes for 3-4 days after graduation before he shipped off to SC (Charleston, a-school).....we got to spend all friday, all satruday and part of sunday with him, BUT THAT was in 2003.....
Also -- NUKE is for ANY Nuclear.....surface ship or submarine.....
Thanks, but what I meant was does it mean submarine? Or is it just a term they use at bootcamp? I know my son was talking about maybe subs before he left.
Awesome! Just got a call from my Sailor this morning. My daughter is Ship 09 Div 266. My name is Sam, nice to meet all the moms with kids in the same group!
Candy: Nuclear
