What is Nuke?
MoMof4 - my son is also on Ship 9 Div 268 - I can't wait to book our trip this week.
We can't decide to drive or fly in...we're in New Jersey.
So excited - can't wait for 8/24/12!!!!
If your SR is ship 11 DIV 264 I started a Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/500000576682558/
THis is still the best place to come for information, but sometimes Facebook is easier to get to. I belong to both. :)
2 days would be a lifetime! I will keep my fingers crossed!
My son is Nuke -- Ship 11, Div 261. I've been trying to research when it is estimated they would leave. Neighbor's son went through Boot Camp two years ago -- he was Nuke and he had a couple days at Great Lakes before he shipped -- hope that is the case for us!!
Any other nukes? in div 941? Our SR is scheduled to go out of state for A school, and from what I am reading, we only have graduation day with our SR's, then possibly a flight out very early Saturday morning. I need more time to see him!!!!!
loveofanavy.... 900 divisions only have brother divisions if there happen to be two 900 divisions in the PIR group. Happens, but rarely.
To add to ellen's post...yes, if your SR can get your extra names on a shipmate's list, that helps. You will need the full name of that SR on PIR day. However, if not, not a problem. The extras may have to wait a few minutes to get in, but they should get in. We have seen PIR groups of 14 still get all guests in. So be sure to bring the extras~
Good morning!
Great to see you all getting your letters. This is the first step in helping relieving some of the separation issues. Now send those letters and keep sending them.
As far as the guest list for PIR, there are no actual tickets. Your SR will have an opportunity to change the names on the list if needed. Kids twelve and under do not need to be on the list, they automatically get in, those 13 and over need to be on the list.
I would suggest that those on the list are the must need to get in.people, you don't want a 13year old having to wait in line alone, or the 81 year old grandma. I told my son to leave me off (I knew I would get in only 5 divisions in his TG), and I knew what to do.
If your SRs list only has two on the list and there are only two of you going perhaps you can ask your SR to put a name on the list of one of those here that has extras going.
The 900 division does not have a brother division.
OK saw everyones posts today about the letter and told my husband we could get the letter today. My daughter called before we got home from work and was so excited because the letter was there. Neat to hear her excited....I'm with everyone else, couldn't believe how neat the hand writing was! Also laughed at how it was addressed....Dr. and family....LOL. He wrote a note and said it was going well and he is eating lots of fruits and vegetables!!!! Never happened at home! Gotta find out what brainwashing technique they used to make that happen and sell it LOL! As happy as I was to get the letter and hear he's doing well it did make me miss him more.....I am so proud of him and excited for the choice he's made for himself but it doesn't mean I can't miss him.....
Sounds like the ball is finally rolling for lots of folks in this PIR group- form letters and boxes arriving- very exciting. Hoping for my form letter soon. Miss my boy.
