for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi Friends!
"Those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles."
Isaiah 40:31
KimQuads: Going to Chicago is fine for the new sailors. Also, remember, after PIR weekend, he will not be able to leave base until he has "phased up". So if you are planning a trip to see him in A School down the road, keep that in mind!
Good Morning!
Angela,
Yep, sometimes my compiter locks up and the "Add Comment" button won't work. It's a 50/50 chance when that happens!
KimsQuads, Your son can't travel more than 50 miles from the RTC, and must be back to base each night somewhere between 8-10pm. He will be briefed on times etc once he moves over to the other side.
DianaLynn, Phone calls can come any day of the week usually between 8am and 8pm (Chicago time). Always expect a call at any time, but never count on one. The first call usually comes sometime in the third or fourth week of BC.
So the question of the evening is: do the SRs only make their phone calls only on Sundays or can it be another day? Since Div 287 didn't get calls, for instance, would we likely get them tomorrow or would it be next Sunday or just unpredictable.
We use a landline mainly, though have cells. I don' t know if my son even knows our cells my heart (LOL). I sent them in a letter this week but not sure if he got them yet. Thus I'm not sure if I want to leave home until I get the call. As much as I would enjoy hearing his voice, I think it would be disappointing for him to only get a voice mail. I know life must carry on (I will need to leave the house!), but am curious if any veterans can lend a thought about expectations for when the first calls will get made for division 287.
So happy to hear from my son tonight.Good to hear his voice. He is doing well & likes his DIV.So glad to hear others are getting calls too..
So excited! My son called and he sounded so happy and just loving being in Boot Camp. He talked non-stop for about 45 minutes. I am so proud of him and so excited to hear from him. I was missing him so much today! Hope you all hear from your son or daughter soon!!
So happy. I just had a 45 min. call with my daughter and she was able to call her dad at work also. It was so good to hear her voice and know she is doing well.
