Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

turtlegirl, The RTC has been a little slow in getting information posted, and have said they post as soon as their computer updates. It can be quite the guessing game sometimes, and maybe not just for us. LOL

Hi Ellen!

My brother has a contact in the RTC office who is responsible for the grad info.....and as of yesterday afternoon, the computer STILL was not updated. I tell you....this TG sure is a special one. Must be why my son is in it. Hahaha!

You know I will be stalking the mailman today!

From form letter:

PIR 8/28
Div 286 Ship 11
Comment by diannep on July 11, 2015 at 9:42am

Just for info, the "ship" is their specific barracks building; the "division" is the group of SRs they are training with.  The reason ellen has the division numbers below grouped in "twos" is because those are brother divisions and they train together.

Good Morning!  Hope for calls today for you all!

Comment by ellen0502 on July 11, 2015 at 4:38am

Ok everyone, I need you all to sound off. :)

We have some huge conflicting info on Divisions after divisions 289/290, and PIR dates for those divisions. Don't worry, if you are reporting info from your form letters it is not an issue.

This is what we are showing for this TG so far.

283/284 Ship 03

285/286

287/288

289/290 Ship 11

942 Ship 02

If you have recruits in these divisions, and have received your form letter, please post the division, and ship (we are missing a couple ships).

If your recruit is in a division other than the above, and you have received the form letter confirming division and this PIR date, please shout that out.

We get our information on divisions in a TG from what you all have posted, until the RTC posts the info, the confusion is NOT coming from the form letters, or the RTC!!

Hey everyone, I want to give you a "HEADS UP" to be prepared to possibly receive calls from your SRs this weekend! The call will show up as "847", "Waukegan, IL", "Pay Phone", or "Government" or anything else that may be unfamiliar. If it is a sales call, just politely tell them "No, thank you." Please also let your family members know about this too~~

When you do receive a call, could you please post which division is calling also, so other moms/loved ones know to expect a call?  Now if anyone in that division doesn't receive a call, it could be your SR is on watch and it is up to the RDCs on whether that SR gets to make-up the call~~

During this time in Boot Camp, please keep your cell phones charged, ready, and with you all the time---upstairs, downstairs, out in the backyard, in the bathroom, out to get the mail, of course, out on errands. If you are going to a loud restaurant or a movie theater, remember to put it on "vibrate" and put in your pocket or some place you can feel it. They can call during the week or weekend, so just be prepared: 6:00 am - 6:00 pm (Pacific/West Coast); 7:00 am - 7:00 pm (Mountain time); 8:00 am - 8:00 pm (Central/Great Lakes time); 9:00 am - 9:00 pm (Eastern Coast).

Diannep: She didn't do anything to prep for it physically to say the least.
