Ditto Jenelle's info.  I was born/raised in S. FL.  Still here.  Went through several as a child, and more since then, including the BIG ONE...Andrew.  With the advance notice and chance to prepare, there is more safety than in other natural disasters. People need to be smart and heed the warnings though.

Lala, I know she may be scared...of course...but she will be fine and educated about hurricanes after that!

Jenelle, that is very kind of you to offer a helping hand. I hope everyone stays strong and safe during this.

Thanks Jenelle, I will pass this info on to my Sailor. She is trying to prepare but has never experienced this before. She is a tough Navy Sailor but I am sure she is still a little scared.

I just left a message on my son's 11/283 post. So for all of you in that ship/div

please read that. For those of you on the east coast...BE SAFE...Take the warning seriously....I live in South Florida and have lived through 4 major hurricanes...If I can help, please private message me. I have it down to a science....I would put your documents in a plastic tote and store in your car!

Homeowners insurance, bank records and any other paper work you will need.

Hurricane Wilma destroyed my barn, damaged my roof on my home and really devastated the area...but...we all survived...all the horses made it and I'm here today to talk about it!......Happy to help with anything....if you have to evacuate horses, bring them down here...I'll keep them for you!

mia:  They would have gone with 282...maybe your sailor had watch when the calls were made?  Does anyone know if all in 281 passed?
