Got a phone call tonight from my SR - I was out on the golf course when he called!! I was so happy to hear his voice. He sounded really good - till we both kinda broke down. But then I told him a funny thing that happened to me and it broke the ice. I miss him so much and can't wait to see him on 9/1.
Surfincin - what division is your SR in?
To all the other moms that their SR's had their wisdom teeth out - my SR said there were a few in his division too. He said they were doing good though.
I hope everyone else got their phone calls and/or letters - it makes me feel so much better!! :)
brejones31....yes, my son is in your division! S 11/ D 283!
He is sick with a cold from what I could pull out of him. He did NOT sound himself at all, seemed very very tired and low key. He said his voice is shot for yelling?
Not sure why he is yelling... He said he is always yelling at the kids in his division? I don't really get that...I pray that his health improves and he stays on track. He did not pass the PT test which amazes me because he was working out for a month before he left and should have been able to breeze the run?
It's hard for me because my daughter passed her PT the first test and she never worked out! She's a beast though...like me...or should I say naturally athletic...tall and lean. Anyway.....write me and we can share stories privately.

Send me a private message and let me know your son's name and I'll let you know what I can do to adopt your sailor the weekend of PIR!
Got my call from Ship 11/ Div 283 yesterday....had to talk quickly because he had to call his Dad. He did not get his W. teeth pulled? Said his were good for another year. Seemed okay, a bit down..they earned an Academic Flag!
We talked a bit about the NEX, he said he purchased a Casio Watch and is able to wear it! His sister is a few weeks ahead of him and he's jealous and wishes he could graduate on 8/12! But, he LOVES the Navy and feels he made a great career decision and I'm so happy for him.
I DO know the difference between "heel" and "heal" in my previous post....man, I need to have someone else start proofing before I hit ADD COMMENT.
Meant to say....blisters heal!
surfincin: Widow here too....know the feeling...listen, if you are not going to PIR, make sure to post shortly before PIR and "PM" your son's name/division to the ladies on here. It is amazing how many of the ladies in these groups will seek out those whose families on this site can't be there...hug them....and get pictures of them! So please don't be shy. Don't do it now...it's too soon...but PIR week, just hit that "Send Message to Group" prompt up top with the info I said.
Sandy he said they can't even march straight without them lol they are the point people I guess they won a flag too!He was surprised I knew so much of what was going on there just from all of you, it has helped me so much !!!
Thank You All :)
boilermom: Blisters are almost a fashion statement in boot camp. LoL. My son had them from marching in those awful combat boots. As diannep said. It gets better as time passes. Boot camp does get easier after "Hell Week.' (week 4)
Try to write your SR lots of positive letters. Be very encouraging. This will carry him through this hard time.
