bobbymom:  She most likely can get in as an "extra."  This IS a large PIR group so no guarantees and she may have to wait until others on the list get in, but she should.

Another idea:  Why not ask him to list her....just in case she could go, but downplay the chance that she can make it...like make it sound impossible, but just in case?  That way, she is on the list and guaranteed to get in but hopefully he is not expecting her.

I wonder why I have not seen any moms from div 287.  I even looked of RTC FB and didn't see any moms for my sons division.  Oh well!

They don't have to be on the list. Most people over 4 on the list can still get in. They may have to wait until all the people on the list are seated but they usually still get in. We took 4 extra people with us and had 13 DIV graduating and all of our group and everyone else who was waiting got in. I would get in line very early to better your chances. It is first come first served. We were early and our extras didn't even have to wait. Surprises are so much fun :-)

Donna:  If she had to be removed from her division because she was really badly sick, you would be called because her PIR date changes.  Hopefully, they have her on "light duty" until she is feeling better.  That way, she stays in her division and continues training.  Hope she gets better soon!

I got my first letter today from my daughter. It is so not good and at this point I am so worried about her. Letter was written on Sunday and she was sick which is causing her all kinds of problems ... apparently she has not been able to keep food down. Right now I am hanging on to the 'no news is good news' theory because I have not had a call from her or anyone else. We would get a call if it is something serious or if her training is delayed or whatever, true?

mapes - as far as the girls, she also said "... living in drama central 80 girls 2 showers and only 10 minutes to shower and dress its a hairy legged hormonal nightmare ..."

Can't wait to see my baby boy in his dress whites!!! Haven't gotten a letter yet, but it's only been 2 weeks as of yesterday, so I will keep *patiently* waiting....

Yes, wellen.  Loving the positive attitude he has!  Don't think the worst is over for him, so hoping that he keeps that attitude.  The first few weeks of training are the worst, but get better around week 4 of training (usually 5-6 weeks after they have left home).  If he gets discouraged at all, remind him of that!  It really does get better!

Welcome!

Ladies, my son is 04/818. I love your countdown clock and the weather update. Being IN SC, I'm glad to see it's cooler up there for them! I rec'd the first letter yesterday, they are always sent on MOndays. He didn't have much time so it was short, but said they were focusing on detail and he would be a better folder than me! His sense of humor was good to see.  He said things were as good as they could be and he thinks the worst is over (this is at the one week mark)...gotta love the positive attitude. I will admit, the letter started another crying jag.

Peanut Butter shot is a very strong antibiotic...we have been told, it covers many things, including STD's.  yuck...

Always lots of drama when you put that many girls together. Even the male divisions have drama too but I think they call it something else lol. They will eventually figure it all out and become a team. It will just take a while and probably a lot of IT (intense training) to get them over the drama lol.
