FTLW - Is the 900's divisions called "Performing division" or "Performance division"?  Or does it matter?

You know why I'm asking....

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on July 25, 2012 at 10:23pm

Even though RTC has not posted it yet this TG will start with 279 and end in 288( we have a Form Letter confiramation for 290 which means 289 will be in the next PIR...unless RTC does something different! LOL) for the regular Divisions. 943 is the Performing division...I do not think there is a SPECOP as we would have heard already.

PIR group 09/14/2012 will be up sometime tomorrow...I have a mom ready to go but she will not be able to do it until the morrow!

Thank you diannep, so really bootcamp is a name for ask of it. Processing days, training Weeks, battlestations and becoming a sailor? I think I'm getting all this except of course if you tell me I'm all wrong :)
Comment by diannep on July 25, 2012 at 9:14pm

sharbear:  Remember, when they arrive at bootcamp, they have processing days, which are counted in "bootcamp time" but not "training weeks."  Once processing is over, they start their actual training (1-1=week 1/day 1).  They can start on a M, T, W, TH, or F.  That will always be there #1 day each week....unless there is a holiday.  This group has Labor Day so it will knock a few of the divisions back a day in training but no worries...they will all graduate on 9/07.

There are 6 weeks of actual training.  So, once they get to 6-5 (week 6, day 5), they have completed their training and are sailors!  This will happen for the lower-numbered groups most likely a week before PIR, and the rest will finish up early PIR week.  BattleStations is their final test (overnight drill) and then they are "capped" and are sailors!  They will still then have a few days before PIR...which are not counted as training days, but bootcamp days.

sharbear, when they first get there they have to go through processing days that takes a week to two weeks. Those days don't count towards their training. The actual training only takes six weeks and five days (aprox) They are normally only there for 7-8 weeks total unless they get there during the holidays which can make it a little long. So that last week and a half you were asking about was actually the first week and a half :-)

butterblink, thanks so much for your interest in the PIR ribbons. I sent you a message so let me know if you didn't get it. My email has been doing crazy things today lol. Here is the link http://www.uniquememorymakers.com/

If your on the new format for mobile and you don't like it ...switch to "Desktop View" from the drop down list. It's in the top right corner and looks like lined paper. The site will then come up like it does on your desktop.

Serenity I am a wife too :) What is your SR's div/ ship #?

Comment by QuestioningSerenity on July 25, 2012 at 7:39pm

Thank you so much for making this group! I know I'm not a mom(a wife instead) But I plan on introducing my mother-in-love (much more fun than law, don't you think?) here too. I've been looking everywhere for a group for those in his div/ship.

Sorry, Lala. I didn't see That you had already answered Sharbear's question. I'm on my phone and the mobile site doesn't navigate as quickly. By the time I read a post there are already replies.
DianneP: thanks for the info. We didn't have time to clarify anything. Only a few minutes to talk. Mostly him asking questions. But I'm still one happy mom. Everyone probably thinks I'm crazy with a big goofy smile on my face. And I came to N4M first. I haven't even told his grandparents yet. I guess I really am a Navy Mom. :)
