Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

This may be a bit premature, but wanted to explain the FIT PROGRAM.
Your SRs will be tested on the PFA (Physical FItness Assessment) three times during bootcamp. The 3rd test is a "must" for them to pass, no matter what they did on the previous two tests. This test involves the run, pushups, situps. The swim tests are one-time. They pass, they're done. But they must pass these before they can do BattleStations.
Your SRs will take this final PFA right before they do their division's BattleStations (see discussion above in forum for further explanation of this)---within the last 2 weeks of bootcamp. If they do not pass, they will not be able to go through BattleStations with their division. They will start in the FIT PROGRAM where they are tested M-W-F. They must pass all portions of the test during this. This is a very supportive division...lots of encouragement to pass these tests.
If they pass these tests by Wed morning of their PIR week, they will do BattleStations with the next PIR group (usually the night before PIR) and be at their PIR...tired, maybe unable to march with their division, but in uniform in the balcony in that case. If they happen to pass before Wed, they will go through with an earlier BattleStations group.
If they do not pass this test by Wed, they will miss their PIR and will not have a future PIR. :-( But....they will stay in the FIT PROGRAM for as long as it takes to pass this test. Once they do, they will then do BattleStations with the next group going through, and be flown directly to A School (or transferred to GL A School base).
Prayers that all of the SRs in this group will get their PFAs passed and not have to go into the FIT PROGRAM!

Just to reiterate: If a SR is asmoed, they are removed from training during that time. Once they are put back into a future PIR group to resume training, all is good. It use to be that they are put back with a PIR group who is at the same point in training that the asmoed SR left at, which happened to my son. However, lately, ladies have been reporting that their SR was put in a PIR group that was further behind, so that SR actually repeated some training.
If they are asmoed for illness/injury, it is possible that they can continue their academic study (computers) but the physical training is stopped.

Ladies: For those concerned about joining FB groups and their purpose. Remember, if you stay here on N4Moms, we are "monitored" and must abide by their rules. There are N4Moms administrators who are in touch with what is posted here. We know we can go to them at any point if we have a concern also.
So actually, if you are looking for "security," seems to me that this is the site to be on. I have now been on it since 2009 and have had no issues with it. We all work very well together on here...there is lots of info, fellowship, support, and concern here.
Having said that....wow, ladies...this group is growing--62 members! I have a feeling that there will be lots of divisions here. So far, there are 11 represented in the Discussion Forum above. Hoping that RTC will be posting the divisions here soon!
For those who have some time on your hands, be sure to scroll through the discussions above in the Discussion Forum for lots of a great info. Remember, those of us on here who are N4Moms veterans have been on for a long time. My son went to bootcamp in 2009, and I have been helping on the PIR groups ever since then. Lala and Betsy came on board in 2010. FTLW in 2011. We are on the boards daily so have accumulated lots of info. We also ask the groups PIRing to please make us aware of changes when they attend PIR, which they do.
So....have a question? Please ask it. Doesnt' matter if it has been asked before, we never mind answering questions more than once! And remember...no question is 'silly' or 'stupid.' They all mean something! So please post whenever you have one!

I agree, Angie...once on the internet, always there. Just the price we pay for the convenience, but wisdom must be used whenever posting something for sure.
If you are on that FB group, you may want to remind them that the Navy has suspended some FB groups that were not following OPSEC. Now is the time for these ladies to learn that the security of our country and their loved ones is at risk with "loose lips" or "out-of-control" fingers typing away!

asmoed=setback in training. They are taken from their PIR group and put in a "holding" group...either for discipline, injury, illness, academic, etc reasons. Once ready to go back to training, they are put into a new PIR group to resume training.

We do too...Hubby especially! When he went to Iraq...I packed him up with a dozen or so movies (he ended up being the only one that had any adn the bus ride to the AP from here had a DVD player...YAY) "All by me onesies!" "Savvy?"
