Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Wednesdays and Thursdays are the most popular days to get mail but if you are like I was you are stalking that mailbox every day of the week. Waiting on the porch, hiding behind bushes, paying the neighbors kid to check it for you when you are at work. believe me it has all been done. One mom even had a device put in her box that would ring in her house like a doorbell when mail was put in it lol. We all know what you are going through and we are here for you.

I guess it's not so much the info thats on there but more just getting something from him. Missing him and just want something. :(

Great information, he answered everybody's questions, slide presentation with maps etc. He also has a buffet table up with some great food. Yes, it is all free, but there is a "help the fund" jar, I would suggest putting in a few bucks to help him defray the cost (he pays for it all himself).

It is family friendly so you can take the kids!!!

Comment by diannep on July 22, 2012 at 8:15pm: I agree with FTLW! It is very possible that they were able to write for the first time today! Fingers crossed! If that is the case, they would have also received their first mail (held until the Recruit Mail Petty Officers are trained). After that, they will receive it M-F each week.

Comment by diannep on July 22, 2012 at 8:14pm: notanavymom: When we N4Moms veterans were up there, Sarge was not having his MeetandGreet yet. In fact when I went (probably the longest N4Moms veteran on here...PIR back in early 2010), there was only the one at the Ramada.

Having said that, we have had rave reviews on Sarge's MeetandGreet. He is full of info and it close to where you are staying (near Springhill Suites/Courtyard too). We recommend his because of his info and helpfulness. All of the MeetandGreets are "kid/family friendly."

Betsy, a N4Moms veteran who posted below, and I both stayed at Residence when we were there. She was there almost a year after I was. We both enjoyed our stay there very much. The hotel has the PIR shuttle ($3/pp each way, sailor returns with you for free usually), free hot buffet breakfast (served earlier on PIR day), pool (we didn't need this as both of us were there in winter), and it is pet friendly for those driving who want to bring pets! It is only about 4 miles from RTC...and close to the Walmart shopping center with restaurants, etc. Good location. I think you will like it!

If you want a firsthand impression of Sarge's MeetandGreet, why not join/post on the PIR 07/20/2012 group and ask the ladies on there? They would have just experienced this.

I asked that since today is Sunday, will our SRs have a chance to write home today. FTLW replied that they may get to write home for the first time today. Here's hoping that's the case and we receive letters by week's end. I am just dying (sp?) to hear how he is doing! P.S. Veteran moms, you guys are awesome! Thanks!
