Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I have really enjoyed having this site and being able to read the updates/information. Does anyone know if DIV 287 has gone through Battle Stations? They maybe the last ones on the totem poll. Either way, All is WELL and we are looking forward to Friday and lots of hugs and love.

Phase 1, ( first 4 weeks) no civilian cloths and they have liberty on base only.

Comment by Angie on September 9, 2014 at 11:39am: Hello everyone my daughter told me they don't get to wear civilian clothes until like the 3rd week of school so if they're flying with all the heavy luggage it's best to send it to them later.

Comment by Michelle on September 9, 2014 at 11:00am: He is staying at GL. So not too much...but like shoes jeans and shirts and stuff along with a cell phone? I don't know how much they get to use that stuff while attending A school. Do you?

Comment by diannep on September 9, 2014 at 10:46am: Michelle: You can pass off personal items to them at the airport if they are flying to A School or they can return to GL A School base (they move over there after PIR) with them during their weekend Liberty if staying in GL for A School. Just remember....if they are flying out, they should be able to incorporate personal items into their existing luggage, which is pretty full....they have a large seabag, garment bag (uniforms)---both checked luggage, and a backpack. They must manage their luggage themselves so it is best not to add extra bags to this. You can always ship the rest of their items to them later. They will want to get to their A Schools and see how much room they have for storage. They are not allowed to wear civilian clothes until they phase up anyway.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on September 9, 2014 at 9:16am: Good morning everyone, I know many of you are excited about calls today and ALL of you are ready for Friday :) Please remember to ask your sailor when they call if everyone in the DIV passed and if you don't get a call it could just mean your recruit/sailor had watch at the time calls were made. Also keep an eye on their facebook page. Some of them will pay for internet time when the phone line is long :)

Comment by Michelle on September 9, 2014 at 4:55am: That is so stressful for people who are flying in from other states! We are driving from Atlanta but his grandma is flying in from Vegas! So it doesn't give much time if changes need to be made. I am positive and everything is going to turn out just fine!

Does anyone know if we can bring clothes and shoes and things with us to give them?
