~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi everyone! We are from IN. and he is the first family member to join the Navy. ;One of my son's in in the AF. I am excited to get on this page to meet other parents that will be at graduation the same time... Navy Proud, Navy Strong!!
Hi all, my SR (11/284) is my 3rd to go through Navy Boot Camp, I actually have another SR there as well and his PIR date is 8.22. We are from Texas and he will be going to FL I believe for ASchool, he is married and my DIL lives with us for the time he is away.
Welcome to your PIR group!
My son graduated BC in April of 2012. He is an ET3, stayed in GL for A School, went to C School in San Diego, and is currently stationed in Japan. The ship he is attached to is a Whidbey Island-class landing ship, part of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), Squadron 11.
A few other veteran moms will be joining to help answer questions, offer support, and give you lots of information.
There will also be lots of pages posted with information for you along the way. They will be posted as the subjects come up!
Remember there are no dumb questions, so ask away!
Fasten your seatbelts...the next few weeks will be a roller coaster ride, but at the end of the ride you are in for the best hug ever!!
You need to be a member of ALUMNI OF PIR 09/12/2014 TG 44 - 11 Divisions (281-290, and 944) to add comments!
