DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Lorianne,

You did that by hand?? Or was it a program for an embroidering machine?  It really is cute!

Lorianne,

That's cute!  Where did you get the patch?  Is it iron-on?  So patriotic!

My SAILOR just called! He said all of 343 passed! He sounded relieved and tired. Said they were going to hang out at NEX for a while.

patj:  Here's what we did.  My older son and I decided to stay put in the lower bleachers (as opposed to balcony seating).  We were midway up and figured we would let the "cattle herd" go (which is what it is like with so many running to their sailors!  So exciting!).. and we would be visible to our sailor in empty bleachers.  So we waited...and waited...and waited....seemed like forever but it was probably no more than about 3-5 minutes.  Nope, nothing.  So we made our way through the throngs and found him, chatting with shipmates!  WHAT?  I asked him if he even knew we were there (he knew we were coming!).  He said:  Mom, I looked at the back of the sailor in front of me the entire time...so I would remain focused...and never even looked up at the bleachers for you guys, but assumed you were there.

So I smacked him ....and then hugged him!  :-)  Don't worry, you will find your sailor since that division should be in front of you.  So many worry they won't find them, but they do!  If you think it would be easier for your sailor to find YOU in the empty bleachers, go for it!  Maybe you will have better luck than we did!  :-)
