~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Glad you figured it out, jettsmom! Just takes practice and then it is pretty routine!
Dear Jettsmom, my SR also is in 09-341, I love reading the posts, this site keeps me very well informed of everything. I am very thankful of the administradors, they help us a lot. and all the Moms that share about this journey with their SR's. I still have not find the Facebook for this group.
thank you all. Good day
I have been so lost on this site , just when i think ive figured it out im lost again. I think i have it down now. My SR is in SHIP 09 DIV 341 .I love reading everyones posts and i want to thank you all for all the information .
...I should add that we have been told that sailors are going to start flying out of Milwaukee as well in the future. I believe they have the USO in place there now.
Andrewsmom: The sailors fly out of both airports, and yes, probably depends on their A School base and flight availablilty. The SRs/sailors will know their flights during PIR week. No, you won't be able to know this info before making your own flight arrangements.
But here is a suggestion. If you know where your sailor is going to A School, join that group on this site and ask on there which airport most of those sailors flew from. You may get an idea of which one is most used!
CatMom509 ~ Thanks for posting the PIR tips! This is the first mention of Midway airport I've seen. Where did your daughter go to A school? Is it more common to fly out of one airport or the other depending on school location? Do the SR's have this info before PIR week? I guess it would be hard to tell us unless they get to make a phone call the weekend before. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!
So glad to see you back, Jessica! We were worried about you!
Welcome back JessicaB, so good to have you here again :)
Just checking in-may get a letter today based on last week's letter. Did anyone else get a phone call last night?
Thanks so much everyone <3
I am glad to see everyone is still here. I know I see you here and on facebook but I have no clue who is who lol. Screen names here and real names there it is a LOT to keep up with lol
