~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

i was so glad that i was home on saturday the 27th cause he called home. it was so good to hear his voice. i cannot wait to see him at the gradution. my first time on a airplane, i am not so sure about that. if it is the only way to see him i will do it.

On the phone cards, be sure they are at least 250 minutes, more if you can.  The pay phones eat up alot of their minutes when they connect for each call.

Thank you!

I have been getting him calling cards at Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid with preloaded minutes.  There is also a website that will send you free calling cards to send to your SR.  I feel bad taking them since I already bought him a bunch but may get some and tell him to share them with people who may need them.  Just be careful with the calling cards since a lot of them are for prepaid CELL phones.  I have only had luck getting them at the drug stores.

Divisions have been posted for this TG. There are 11 divisions so each recruit is permitted 4 guests.

I will be posting division discussions later this evening.

What kind of phone cards do people send? Hopefully we'll get his address soon and can start sending letters, and I'd like to tuck in a few phone cards but don't know what kind they can use. Any help is much appreciated!

My son was in the same boat as many....he left with his recruiter on July 9th and did not arrive in GL until 10:00pm on July 11th and then was in holding days waiting to have a complete division.  Anyway, I have been writing him every other day and sneaking in a phone card here and there.  My younger sons and I always joke that my SR hated to WRITE when he was home so why would that change.  Him and language arts never were good friends.  We keep laughing about it and if he does write, it will be two sentences.  LOL.  He always was a simple man with words.  We just take every day with a laugh and figure he can find a lot less trouble there than at home.
