~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

UGH...what a rough weekend it was...I saw on Saturday that my sons ship/div was making phone calls and knowing full well I wouldn't receive one I still carried my cell phone around with me everywhere all day just in case...yup the call never came and of course my ex husband just tell me anything so I don't even know how my boy is doing and if he is okay. Oh well...headed to the mailbox to send out another letter :)
I received my daughters letter her PIR is 9/13 and she is on ship 12 div 349!!
Thank you for the info Diannep!
@Rosa- So cool. You must have gotten a phone call on Saturday as well then.
...I agree, Lala! Welcome back, FTLW!
Good morning everyone, FTLW, great to see you here, we have missed you :)
Good Morning!
adn402: Their pay usually starts 3-4 weeks after they arrive at RTC. They are paid on the 1st and 15th of the month, unless they have an acct with Navy Fed.....they can open one at RTC....in that case, they are paid on the 14th and 30th/31st of the month. I would think his first pay would come in the middle of August.
So glad that you had such an uplifting call from him!
FancyIndia: Be sure to check the reviews on the Ramada. We have had mixed reviews on that hotel over the past couple of years. Just want you to be aware of the criticisms and then make your own decision. The most popular MeetandGreet is actually Sarge's, held the same night, but with much more info for you. Just know that you have a choice in which one you attend! Here is the TripAdvisor site with reviews on the Ramada:
