OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Great letter from my SR today. 2 wisdom teeth pulled, one IT, making lots of great friends and getting close to God. His letters get better each week.

Ladies, just a reminder to please be checking the comments at the bottom of your MY PAGE as many will be trying to comment to you that way.

tbird:  Is there any way you can copy/paste some of the comments you are reading on the FB groups here?  I would like to see what they are saying.  We have not heard that Sarge is promoting products at the MeetandGreet, although he does have a taxi service.  Please post what is being said so we can address the situation.  Thanks!

SailorsW'sWife:  They can be asmoed (setback) for many things....illness, injury, discipline, academic/physical fitness failure.  The SR must pass the 3rd and final PFA (fitness test)...no matter what he/she did on the first two tests...before proceeding to BattleStations, their final test.  If they do not pass this 3rd test by their BattleStations day, the SR will call you and tell you that he/she may not graduate.  They will have from 1-3 more chances to pass, depending on when their BattleStations is, and still be at PIR.  If they do not pass by PIR, they stay in FIT and keep trying....10-12 more chances.  Once they pass then, they do BattleStations and head to A School, no PIR once they miss their own.

Whole divisions will NOT be setback, but may be threatened to be held back by the RDCs to motivate them to work as a team.  But individuals can be held back at any point during Bootcamp.  That is why we suggest that those who are flying to PIR try and use Southwest Airlines into either Chicago-Midway or Milwaukee (longer distance, but faster drive time due to no traffic).  Southwest charges no change fee and 2 bags check for free.  They also offer a discount rental car code.

What does an SR have to fail to have his PIR pushed back? My SR hasn't failed any tests, inspections, or fitness requirements but I know that some of their toughest is yet to come. I was just wondering what actually causes them to have a delayed graduation other than medical attention. Thank you!!!

Loving Thursdays... But I see on Facebook moms worried about meet and greet being a sales pitch. I can't believe that to be true due to everyone that has loved it so far. Why are they saying these things? Anyone?
