~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi All-just wanted to say hello and I've following everyone's email alerts as they come in. Thank you for all the information y'all have been sharing. It's very helpful. I continue to pray for all of our loves ones and the next batch of recruits after the next. I'm sure it's hard being there and not having any letters and cards to open. I've been sharing this scripture with my son in every letter so that he will be so sick of reading it...that it will be something he will end up memorizing.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD YOUR GOD will be with you wherever you go.

Have a great day.

*YOUR new sailor!

None of the SRs will know their exact departure date for sure until they get their flight info right before PIR.  So for all of those who can stay until Sunday, just in case, you just may get some extra time with our new sailor!  Most will fly out Saturday, but occasionally some don't leave until Sunday.

Lane's mom,

All Sailors flying out on Saturday get liberty with their families right after PIR at 10:30 am until that evening sometime (6:00 pm - 8:00 pm), then return to their barracks to pack up and get on the buses to the airports about 12:30 am or later.

If the Nukes really get to stay until Sunday, then you will get a bonus day of all day Saturday with them!  Nothing is known for sure though till closer to Battlestations.  If your Nuke does end up leaving on Saturday, then you will have a day to explore Chicago yourselves~~

Hi Lane's mom, my son is also flying to Charleston to Nuke A school. He had originally told me that he was leaving Saturday after graduation, so I was planning on coming home Saturday but he is now saying to stay until Sunday because they might not leave Saturday. I don't think they even know yet. I'm hoping to get a call soon so I can get more information.

My son should be flying out to Charleston to Nuke "A" school.  Does anyone have an idea of when he would be flying out? If he flies out on Saturday will he still get to leave base on liberty after graduation on that Friday? Thanks in advance to anyone with information!

williewish,

Not expecting a call from your SR doesn't make you a bad mom!!  It was a good surprise for you!!

Your SR shouldn't be flying out at 2:00 am, but he will probably be arriving at the O'Hare at that time.  Flights usually depart starting at 6:00 am and on throughout the day, he won't know exactly what time until after he completes Battlestations~~  When you meet him, make sure you park in a flat rate lot--$12.00 for the whole day.  If you park in the hourly lot, it will be pricey!

Oh, join the "Sailors in Pensacola, FL for A school", which is a nice, active group with lots of help.  I was part of that group!
