N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hello I'm just joining today. My boyfriend is on ship 09 div 307. His mom received a letter last Tuesday, I got his box on Wednesday. Saturday morning I got a call, and he said he has already received a letter from his brother.

So everyone knows, southwest has low fares right now! Roundtrip for $350!

JodysMom:  I believe in the past they have flown from both airports.  CatMom's daughter went to Pensacola last year and I believe she flew from Midway.

Aurora:  What is your SR's job in the Navy?  That determines where he/she goes to A School.  If you post that here, we should be able to tell you.

I know the recruits won't know travel itinerary until right before PIR so I'm playing a guessing game right now.  I have to be home Saturday late morning.  My daughter's senior homecoming is that day.  My son's dad and our other boy will stay behind and see Jody off and give him his phone.  He goes to A school in Pensacola.  Does anyone know if the sailors tend to fly from O'hare or Midway for Pensacola????

Unfortunately we don't have the option of waiting until Sunday to fly home, it would add to the cost too much plus we are leaving 5 of our kids with a friend.  Plus, for me, flying out on Saturday means we can use our own tickets to get through the gate at the airport instead of needing a Family Pass....especially since we are bringing my daughter's boyfriend and he isn't technically family.
