N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Holiday Inn Express in Waukegan also shows the Livestream PIR in their lobby right now.  If there is more interest from families coming in, they will move it to an available conference room~~

diannep,

That's good that the hotels are doing that to make the PIR experience better for families that  have members that can't all get into the PIR!!  Very considerate--could also be a marketing tool!!  Probably should keep a list of which hotels do that~~

Comment by diannep on October 1, 2013 at 12:25pm

Was just told that some of the hotels are showing the Livefeed of the PIR service in their conference rooms.  So for those extras left behind, be sure to ask at your hotel if they do that.  Residence Inn Waukegan does.

Ladies:  There apparently was a problem with the Livefeed of the PIR service last week for some.  Please keep the Public Affairs Office phone number with you when at PIR and give it to those planning on watching it.....847 688 2405   just in case there is another problem---call them for info it that happens.  I have posted 2 websites for the Livefeed since I understand that some on IPads have had trouble with the first one in the past:

Sofora:  Did you change your settings?  If you want to receive them again, go to SETTINGS in the top right corner of this page.  Click.  Then go to "email" and click.  You can then customize which emails you want to receive on there.

RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND CURRENTLY ENFORCES THE FOLLOWING PASS IN REVIEW GUEST POLICY:

ALL GUESTS, to include Active Duty/Retired Military Personnel and those ages 3 and older must be on the access list.  Children 2 and under do not need to be on the access list.

The number of guests allowed per recruit is dependent on the number of divisions in the training group.

Less than 12 divisions within the training group: FOUR guest maximum per recruit

13 or more divisions within the training group: THREE guest maximum per recruit.

Please coordinate with the recruit as only recruits may place names on the access list.  RTC staff can neither change these names nor release the names of those on the list.

Individuals who are not on the access list will NOT be authorized admission into the drill hall.  We do NOT have a designated waiting area nor do we offer a standby list.
