N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Got the official letter today so I could join this group!  Yay!  Ship 03 DIV 378! Hope to get insight and offer support to all the other loved ones in this crazy ride together!  Checking off another Friday today!

Ladies,

When your SRs finally get to call very soon (like maybe this weekend), the area code will most likely show "847", but it could be any other area code so pick up all calls and if it is a solicitor, just tell them politely, "no, thank you."  Keep your cell phones near you and fully charged at all times,Take it to the bathroom, outside with you, upstairs, in the basement.  If your SR calls the home phone, have calls forwarded to your cell when you are out and about!!  If you are going to some place somewhat loud, put your phone on vibrate and then in your pocket or bra to be sure not to miss the call~~

Just having that PIR date is great isn't it? It shows us the light at the end of the boot camp tunnel....LOL!

The letter came today, two days after "the box".  Glad to have an address and PIR date.  Ship 03 div 377

Hello everyone, I got my letter yesterday and did the Happy Momma dance!  I found a hastily written "I LOVE YOU" on the back of my letter.  Made my heart sing!  Ship 14 Div 375

Got my letter yesterday! Put 2 of my letters to her in the mail this morning! She was a little sneaky and put little messages on the inside of the envelope and on the corner of one of the pages of the letter. LOL

momtom:  Your division's brother division is 373!  So watch for posts from ladies (and sometimes men!) in that division also as your SR knows their SRs too!  :-)
