Small up date on Sam... He is on hold in San Diego working in the admin dept. He is waiting for orders then to c-school. He missed his grandpa's funeral, felt bad about that but, as he always does, took it in stride. I'm still holding tight to the memories and pics of my trip with him in SD 2 weeks ago as it was such a bright spot in a 2 month period where my husband and I each
losing our dads.

He still calls almost daily... As I know you do, I look forward to those calls and treasure the conversations.

Have a great day ladies.

Eileen... great update. The emotional roller coaster we ladies are on in incredible to me. We are excited for our sailors opportunities, fearful because of those same opportunities, and saddened by the emptiness we feel because they seems so far away. It's wonderful we have an outlet here to express all of that.

Ladies all... thanks for still keeping this group going.

Kat-when Kevin was home at Christmas time, the same thing happened, and when I asked him about it, he said he only keeps his area clean when it is going to be inspected.

Woo hoo - Seby made it home.  Only has 4 days, but we will take it.  Cost a fortune to reroute his ticket, but thank God hubby had.  He really wanted to come home.  I am trying not to take up his time as I had him to myself for a week in Chicago.  Brought me home a seabag of laundry.  What is this?  Then his 3 rooms are trashed again.  What happened to all that neat boot camp training?  hellooo -- lol  Don't know how one person can cause such chaos in such a short time. lol  God bless him.

Nope that phase for me gone over 15 years ago. lol  Just feeling bad for these guys on hold.  Some won't get to go home before next assisgnment if they are on hold for too long.

I am sad as I am leaving Chicago today and my sailor and all of my adopted ones. Still haven't heard if they are still going to be on hold or not. I had such an awesome time being with all of them It will be an experience I won't soon forget. Big sigh --

I know exactly the feeling gcmb.  I didn't cry that much as my son wanted this and I am proud of him.  But right now they are on hold and frustreted so when I left base last night I had to hold back the tears.  Didn't want to make them feel sadder.  Hugs to you.

So sorry to hear of your loss Donna.  Your family is in my prayers.

Way to go Paul!

I will be following another recruit through bc.  She is a good friend of my sons!  She left today, so the wait begins for the letter!  lol
