Thanks Sharon and katq. SF is doing well at A-school, even hangs with a couple of guys and gals, has study partners...I guess it's me, none of their moms are on here, n4m, so I guess I feel a bit disconnected. You ladies are great, though and I will stay on pir 10/1 because of you all.

Txsailor.... Tiffany doesn't have any friends either and she has no friends that are girls, just guys who keep telling her they will hang out with her at the mall on the weekend, then take off and go play football or ice hockey with other boys (I don't blame them much) She has three roomates that do not include her, they have been there for a year now and two leave today and the third leaves right before the holiday. Last weekend she spend to whole weekend in her room, eating food she bought at the NEX and sleeping and being bored :( I felt horrible for her but there is nothing I can do :( All of her girl bootcamp buddies are all gone now and so she's just waiting to come home for Christmas and get out of there for a little while.... Maybe Sam could be one of the firsts we send a little care package too?
Here is a pic of Tiff with her Adopt A Sailor family group, I won't post all just one, so not sure which one will pop up, but you can go to my profile to see the others REENIE!!!!!!!!!!!

Woohoo! my friend just e-mailed that my keel is there. She will try and ship the DVD and keel to me this week. It is my understanding that the keel is just the division and brother division which is why they had to be special ordered. It would of been nice to have all in there though.

txsailor - You are not alone - you have all of us on here. My son had trouble the fist week or so in A school as the others from BC who are also corpsmen were put into one building and mine was put into a different one alone. He had a rough time in the beginning as his roommates are a little older and graduating this week. He stood his ground so to speak and became friends with them (now they are leaving). He is also lucky to have another sailor from home that he was a depper with now in the same building that he gets to see. Your son when he gets stationed in his first assisgnment will make friends and they will stary connected. Hang in there - prayers for him, hugs for you.
Reenie - wow you have been really putting alot of time and thinking into our "Brat Packs". Thank you. I will put on my little ole thinking cap as well. The idea of the birthday cards is awesome though. My son turns 20 today and his first birthday away from me. I checked his facebook page and it is over run for well wishes for him, hope he can sign on today and read. How fun to have a facebook page for this as well.

reenie... it sounds like you have puts lots of thought into this. What a wonderful idea. I would also like to be a part of this and will think on it some more.

Thanks to all the moms out there. Our sailors are blessed to have so many who care about them.

I kind of feel somewhat alone... SF has no one from his PIR with him but may when he gets to his order spot. He's still in A-school. It seems like quite a few of your sailors made great connections to others. thats fantastic.

Have a great day out there where ever you are.

Hi everyone!

Thank you Maureen for taking charge of the Brat Packs/Alumni Group! Let us all know what we can do to help, or if you want to bounce ideas around.
I am so excited about this new chapter in our N4M group! So much love and encouragement from everyone...might as well box some of it up and send it to a sailor!
Maureen there are some great companies we can solicit for donations also! Red Vines sent me 3lbs of liqorice one time just bc I sent them a nice email!
Have you started a list yet? LOL!

Wow, brat pack is taking off. This is so awesome. Watch out world the Navy moms/wives/etc. of 10/1/2010 are coming back - kicking butt - and stronger than ever!!! I can't wait.
Seabee wife - cute picture of your sailor with kids. Don't worry about being large, mine tend to come out that way also.
Louann - I still have not received my keel either. (I am sad)
