Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Received 2 letters on sat and 1 on Monday. Was so stoked. Sounds better. Sending home his mail he has received already

Jane yes there is a div 325 that is where my son is. Counting down the days to see him as I have not gotten a call since the end of aug

@Wisconsin Mom, not sure about the walking on base...but we are staying at the Navy Lodge too. They said it is 1.5 miles from base.

I'm hoping to walk from the Navy Lodge. Anybody else planning on doing that? I just know I'll be way to antsy to sit in the car and wait in line..or does anyone know if walking on base to the base is a no-no?

Sailorgirl- we are planning to leave the hotel at 6am (like Lydia just suggested)...hitting the walmart the day before for grab n go breakfast and stuffing it and the kids in the car very early!

sailorgirl - we had a LOT of Divisions that PIR at my sons.... we drove our rental and left at 6:00 ----- still had a line of traffic and ppl at the check in ! I dont know how many divs yall have but Id leave at 6:00..... get some coffee at Dunkin Donuts and go!!!!!!! :o)

what time would anyone suggest i leave the hotel morning of PIR to get to the base with my mom and his mom so we get in on time to get good seats? i told my mom we need to leave the hotel which is about 4 miles away from the base no later than 6:25. is that an okay time? or should we be leaving earlier? we want to get good seats!
